Hi guys, I've just got back from a delightful Caribbean cruise where I experienced the worst sunburn ever but still had a great time. However, they were charging $0.65 (40p) per minute to use the computers (yeah, i know!). As a result, I missed a large proportion of the transfer window. I know we captured Santon and Elliot but failed to get another striker which is very disappointing!... OH! And a certain club owner photographed stripping in a Chinese restaurant but did I miss much else?
We have a SuBo game. If you say AH is gay*, you have to have a pic of Susan Boyle as your avatar. *this doesn't count!
Not really. You've pretty much got the gist of it all. Oh, Joey Barton finally joined a team playing Champions League football... QPR.
Yeah and that too, looks dead chuffed with the move! Although he was one of my favourite players I'm glad he's gone, the club can move forward now without needless disruption malarky!
I must admint it tickled me somewhat that there seems to be a swell in referring to the upcoming match between NUFC and 'Joey Barton's QPR' .. something I think we should all start using for any threads, articles, twitter conversations etc etc, should rile Warnock right up
Let me tell you, Leazes, Flew to Miami where I stayed for 2 nights. my dad had hotel points and air miles so we got to fly out in first class and stay in a double tree suite on north miami beach- very lucky boy, me! On a side note i didn't realised HOW Hispanic that place is, we went to a mall and I swear I was the only English speaker there- even the staff Latino-American- was quite surprised! Set sail from Cape Canaveral, Florida for the cruise, visited Nassau in the Bahamas (that was so, so- bit shabby) then St. Thomas in US Virgin Islands and St Marteen two absolutely beautiful places, went jet skiing did a little shopping- I took some pics and may upload them. It really was paradise! The cruise itself is overrated though, I have to say, the stops are excellent but they make out that there's loads to do on the actual ship- that's if you're willing to pay $$$ and to top it off I couldn't drink due to US law- don't get me started on the US drinking age at 21- totally unjustified and biased. However the cruise staff were dead friendly, especially the waiters at dinner with whom we all had a laugh and got photos taken with, all from places like India, Philippines and the Caribbean really great people! I'd recommend it, but perhaps a mediterranean cruise instead due to less travelling, and drinking laws etc!
Not sure I could ever do a cruise as it's very enclosed and I like to have the freedom to hire a car and just drive somewhere for a few days as an extra to my holiday. Went to Greece with the family and I hired a boat for 2 days and buggered off around the islands for a while to get away from the resorts.
I have always wanted to go to the Caribbean, but think I would do a holiday. A cruise is something me and my sister have been looking to set up for my parents, we think it would be a nice gesture. I think they would probably enjoy the cruise by the sounds of it. Glad you enjoyed most of it though, good to have you back to the crazy world that is NUFC!
I see what you mean, the ship normally arrived at each destination by 9am, and you could leave as soon as then and had to be back around 4/5ish. Taxi's would charge $4 per person to the main shops/beach area. But we figured it would make more sense just to rent a car for the day (cheap as chips!) and drive round the Island's and check out the beautiful places for ourselves! As for the staying in the ship itself, it's just like a hotel, minus the beach but just water, lots and lots of water. I recon that if you want a Caribbean holiday without the cruise then just fork out for Barbados. The Islands in which you visit on the cruise really don't have that much to offer for a weeks stay and are more suited to 1/2 days stint. It's nice to check out every individual Islands, life just seems oh so simple out there, care free! And yes, these cruises seem a lot more appealing to over 60s; there are a lot of retired folk on these cruises, especially the American kind: please log in to view this image Yeah it was very frustrating being away on transfer deadline day. Even more when you consider how we had been waiting and waiting on a striker and still to no avail! Some interesting moves though; Meireles, Arteta, Bellamy! What has everyone on here made of the whole Ruiz ordeal, were we generally willing to take a punt on him as fans?
