In our present run of Premiership football which pair of forwards have looked the part, even if we saw only a glimpse of their potential, you saw enough to think they could take us to that elusive next level.

Why does it have to be a pair? Most teams have only played 1 up in this stint.

I don't think any of our forwards at the moment can take us to the next level.

My answer would have been Bent. If he maintained his goal scoring record. With a midfield 5.

I asked the question after watching Gyan in the World Cup, he gave a great display of intelligent movement off the ball and showed just what we have missed out on. We only saw glimpses of him and Sess together but they were both outstanding players on their day. Another pair who came to mind were Cisse and Jones, a combination that looked made in heaven until egos got in the way, a great pity as they seemed to have it all at one stage. These are my two favourite pairings, the lone striker is the fashion of to-day with mid field back-up, but really it is much the same as having two up front, with one dropping back to help the mid field out when needed.
