I didn't really understand the scoring system but am amazed someone has the time and energy to do this! Interesting that the conclusion was that we were largely hard done by, so maybe we were fortunate to win that one. It did look like the ref tried to compensate for some errors in the first half though, so they must get some indication of missed cards and fouls etc. at half time.

Great stuff again Bill...Just more evidence to support my theory that refs tend to give us the **** end of the stick!

Only thing that stood out there was yellow cards in the 1st half, surely they are open to interpretation anyway, ref thought 1 in the 1st half, the op thought 6 in the first half.

Doesnt really prove anything at all, mind you it was a tl:dr blog post so I just skimmed it, so may have missed something.

Witch makes you wonder, how refs got it, somewhere nearly right, half a century ago. maybe the ref nowadays dont have the plot?

Obviously witchcraft is no longer practised which begs the question. Why not if standards are dropping?

The ref had some poor spells in this game.

Probably the fact that you could hack the crap out of each other, push the goalkeeper in the net when he is holding the ball and it still counts, had something to do with refs getting it "right", they just didnt have much to do at all. And they didnt have 30+ TV cameras on every decicion they make either, you were at the match you seen it once, and never ever again, Only TV and replays show them up.

Case in point, the Pen that was not a pen for Everton, A lot in the crowd thought it was a pen, before they seen a replay and it clearly was not a pen but only TV and replays showed it for what it was to most fans.

Point taken, but I fear the spirit of the game, is long gone, money talks, and unfortunately the sport walks.
