LUKE Williams will head for Swansea City with a ringing endorsement of his talents from Hayes and Yeading boss Nas Bashir. Bashir said there have been several enquiries from professional clubs about the 21-year-old midfielder, but Williams has not yet linked-up with Premier League City as reported in a national newspaper on Sunday. However, Bashir confirmed that Williams will train with Swans and that could be next week after United's home match against Kidderminster on Saturday. Williams will have a crack at impressing City boss Brendan Rodgers and Bashir believes Williams is capable of playing as high as the Championship. "He is due to go to Swansea for a bit of experience, but he has not been there yet," said Bashir. "Brendan knows what a talent he is from when Luke was at Reading. Luke then dropped out of the system, but we have got him back enjoying his football. "We had three or four enquiries from other clubs. He will play at a higher level, definitely professionally, and he could get up to Championship level.
Luke Williams - Midfielder - DoB: 27.11.89 - A much sought after skilful 21 year old midfielder who has a real eye for goal, Luke joined Hayes & Yeading in July 2011 from Hellenic Premier Division side Binfield. Luke was signed by Binfield in January 2011 having netted 13 times in 16 games for Woodley Town and has already caught the eye with his battling qualities during pre-season thus earning himself a shot at Blue Square Bet Premier football with United.
sounds like he's worth a dabble if we can help resurrect his career it wont do us any harm it if it doesn't work out then no harm done
Weird one this IMO, didnt we have a punt on ryan harley too?? the guy was never even given a sniff of first team football here but is playing well for Brighton. I beleive we made a profit off him as well but seems strange that its yet another midfielder!! Having said that im all for the club trying this out ,we have proved there is talent from the lower leagues and you never know what can happen if a player gets his head together and works his socks off
Strange that his own manager even recons that he could even play up to Championship level...... remind me what league we are in again?
