The mighty Europy returns tonight and we should definitely be targeting this for silverware. At the same time giving many of our youngsters the experience they need to transition to first team football. The squad looks to be Dubravka, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Malacia, Casemiro, Fred, McTominay, Ronaldo, Elanga, Sancho, De Gea, Heaton, Martinez, Varane, Dalot, Fernandes, Eriksen, Rashford, Garnacho, Fredricson, Mainoo. Although we should piss this group, no way we should take Sociedad lightly. It's important to start with a win imo and they won't be easy to beat. My team: Dubravka AWB Varane Maguire Malacia Casemiro Fred Elanga Bruno Garnacho Ronaldo Let's fcking smash them
1st half never got out of 2nd gear. 2nd half poor first touches and couldn't string any passes together after the substitutions. Kept giving the ball away. Hence why we never created any meaningful chances. Disappointing tbh.
Ronnie should have scored at least 2, Malacia is a total beast of a player, Elanga and Antony will cause havoc when they play, Martinez should start every game. **** result but quite happy with the performance of most of the players. More time together will see a real team emerge.
I'm sure they will. Nothing I said was about what will happen. Last night though it was poor, especially in the 2nd half.
Watched the match today against Trebor Mints. We saw plenty of the ball, didn't need to get out of 2nd gear, won at a canter 2-0. But something still needs to click in that final third so we're more ruthless and the 2 nils are 4 or 5 nil against this kind of opposition. Playing at a canter is ok up to a point but that 2nd half was a waste of time.
I'm just finding it delightful not to have to panic every time the defenders play it among themselves, even de Gea seems to have gained more confidence with this. Malacia, Martinez and Varane are so calm and along with Dalot are also contributing a lot to the forward motion of the team You could see a distinct difference when Shaw came on and the confidence seemed to drop dramatically.
Yet he and Maguire get in the England squad. Picked by a manager who says he picks on form! Or trust, apparently. Man's a spoofer.
