This is the daddy of all matchthreads. The last chance for LVG to show that he is better than Wenger in these big matches and to stay undefeated against the top teams at home. Sunday 17 May 2015 at 1600 hrs at OT Be there or be square.
I would rather be a triangle than a square so I shall definitely be there. But without Carrick and Shaw (meaning Blind goes to LB and Rooney goes to midfield) I dont see us posing the gooners many problems. Both sides fully fit I'd fancy us to win comfortably. As it is, I doubt we'll see more than a draw.
Rooney and Shaw out as well. Possible line up... DDG Valencia Smalling Jones Blind Herrera Fellaini Di Maria Mata RVP Young Or Di Maria remains on the bench and Blind moves into midfield with Rojo at LB.
Honestly United have to go for all out attack. Or counterattack at every opportunity. Let's hope that RVP has got his shooting boots on. Of course it is our last home match we don't want to lose but only a win will make any difference. A draw or defeat and we can forget 3rd. A win and we are still in it. Until the last match. The other thing is that if we draw or lose against Arsenal and they win their Sunderland home match, United has nothing to play for in Hull. I can see Hull winning relegating out of form Newcastle
Fck me no Di Maria or RvP either. Falcao starts. Blind in CM. We're going to do fck all this game. Best opportunity gooners have had going into this fixture in years. Bollox.
This is a game with hardly any downsides. Basically all the pressure is on arsenal. Just hope the players realise that. A draw is equivalent to a defeat. A good win puts the pressure on arsenal to win their match against Sunderland. Chance for Falcao to show what he can do.
I would have preferred him taking a punt on Di Maria today. I would loved to have seen him with Herrera and Mata against a team that wont sit back. Just to see what happens.
This Me too. I am afraid there is something about di Maria and either his form or his relationship with LVG. I see him leaving in the summer.
That wd be crazy if true. 60m spent and you give a proven world class player one season?! Our defence is dodgy with no proper DM in midfield. We should have just gone into this game with a plan to simply attack and outscore. Nothing to lose so why not eh.
No got it on yet. That just about sums up the problems of our season. How fitting that it's ending with our best player getting injured.
Except Di Maria has said just this week that hes been poor this year and that hes determined to show us how good he is next year. Hes confirmed hes staying. Like top 4, it was never in doubt.
