Haven't a clue how they made their stats... I'd rather trust the BBC Sport ones: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21583952

    43-57 possession
    15-18 shotss off target
    11-12 shots on target

The game plan was to keep things tight until half time, then soon bring on rooney to bring on extra pace and energy. Was working well till the red. Despite playing tight Utd gave as good as they got as you can see from those stats. There was no bus parking unlike your venture through europe where you seemed to have the handbrake on permanently.

Yes, congratulations! I was merely pointing out that Utd did not 'park the bus'.

Man Utd have been massively let off the hook by the media.

Chelsea played the best team in Spain/the World away from home, got their captain sent off and still conceded no further goals and even scored, allowing them to go through.

Man Utd played the 3rd best team in Spain at home, got a reserve player sent off and immediately collapsed with two goals conceded and none scored (even their goal was an own goal).

And in response the Man Utd manager cries and runs away.

Difference being Madrid have a manger whose capable of adapting his tactics to get the best result. Barca only play one way and parking the bus is the easiest way to stop them.

Do you think if Chelsea and Barc played again in that scenario that Chelsea would get the same result? I don't, but fair play to them for getting it done.

Sure Madrid is 3rd in La Liga, but they've just beaten Barca twice in a week, so clearly they aren't that bad, are they?

Not sure why everyone's all up in arms about Ferguson avoiding the media after the game. If he was going to say anything it wasn't going to be nice, so why say it at all?

Can't see what all the fuss is about. Man Utd got a bad decision against them. They shipped 2 goals at home, and fell to pieces.Nothing unusual about that ????
Whoops, Man Utd DON't get bad decisions at Old Trafford, never get the ref favouring the other team !!!!!!!!! No wonder they are whinging like banshees, it must be like a bolt from above.
Ah well, now you know how the rest of us feel. Suck it up.

So Real are only the third best team in Spain because they are currently third in the league, but Barcelona were the best team in the world against Chelsea even though they were second in Spain at the time... interesting.

Barca had won 15 in a row or something and 58 unbeaten at CN. They were only four points behind RM with a home classico to come. Many fancied this great team to lift La liga. Chelsea ended them.

And we beat Barca. You choked v Real

Barca being defending European Champions as well as the then current La Liga Champions might also have had something to do with it.....

When we faced Barca their recent honours were:

    08/09 La Liga Champions
    09/10 La Liga Champions
    10/11 La Liga Champions

I think most are more than justified in saying they were the best team as Chelsea faced them especially being only 4 points behind and Messi breaking umpteen records.

In the first leg, Barca played very well against Chelsea, in fact probably as well as they'd played in any away game in KO stages over the last 2 seasons. For the opening 45 minutes in the 2nd leg they were also exceptional.

United faced a Real side that only really played well (by their standards) for half an hour and in that time Real scored twice, hit the woodwork and squandered 2 clear cut chances.

Was there as much fuss when Clattenburg robbed us at the Bridge against them in October or when Halsey robbed Liverpool against them in September? And that's Chelsea and Liverpool.

Remember when Ashley Young dived to con refs into giving penalties against both QPR and Villa, both of which were relegation threatened and what's worse, could have been in financial ruin if relegated. That didn't even make the back page.

When Drogba got the offside goal against them 3 years ago (on a Saturday) I remember it being in every paper and replayed on the Sky Sports news reel every half hour up until the Tuesday at which point there were midweek fixtures to concentrate on. Never mind the fact we were already 0-1 and every pundit agreed we were by far the better team up to that point. The headline was "United robbed".

Fed up of the media bias.

yep and the Hernandez goal was replayed just as much, Clattenburg didnt have that bad a game like everyone has made out, he got the Torres 2nd yellow wrong but as Ive said lots of times he should have gone for the 1st yellow, Ivanovic was rightly sent off for last man and Rooney got a yellow for fouling Hazard, it was the linesman that gave the Hernandez goal at the end of the day. Your right about the 2 Young dives and the Media were all over that but on the other hand nothing was said when Welbeck had a perfectly good goal disallowed at Loftus Road.

Yes, yes, we have heard this before, United were poor because they couldn't beat a Real team that are terrible, the fact they had just beat Barcelona twice back to back home and away (once with Ronaldo on the bench for most of the game too) makes absolutely no difference.... and Real are the current La Liga Champions this time around, and they won that easily with games to spare.

You like to mention how the hit they woodwork and squandered 2 clear cut cut chances, but fail to mention the clear cut chances United squandered at their place, United easily had the better chances and RVP unusually missed 2 sitters in that game, plus Lopez was forced in to 3 great saves after the red card at Old Trafford.
