I hope we get a decent game on Wednesday, although I fear it will be a defensive & dull affair.

I suppose Carlo will already have an idea of his starting line up, which frankly could be just about anything given we are injury free

Luiz will not feature obviously - so a recall for Alex may be the plan, Ivan or Boz at RB

I'd prefer to see Zhirkov start in front of Malouda who is not 'at it' lately

As for what he is planning up front - we gotta stick to Torres & Drogba I'd say in a 4 4 2

We need to go for it & take a lead to OT or I reckon we're sitting

I've got a bad feeling about wednesday. I can't help it but I hate playing them even though we've done well against them more often than not. I hate playing English sides in the CL, it's too stressful. It's not so bad getting knocked out against foreign clubs but it's murder against another English club.
I have absolutely no confidence in us under Carlo. I just don't think he has the nous to out-think other managers.
I hope I'm wrong.

Taking a 0-0 to Old Trafford wouldnt be the end of the world,we must keep a clean sheet at home and if we do they will be ****tin emselves about us getting an away goal at their place.

Duce

I'm sure you know what you mean...buggered if I do...

Zinc

Let's hope you are eh

He has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about people referring to Man United as "United". He likes to pretend not to understand which United you are talking about - in this case he's pretending he thinks you are talking about Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday. If you humour him, he'll soon go away <ok>

For what it's worth, I reckon Luke is right. Barring the 3-0 thrashing in 09 when you were imploding under Scolari, most of the games between us have been pretty tight in recent years. Even when one side is superior, that doesn't always translate into a convincing result. I can see this one ending up as a 1-1 or a 2-1 Chelsea.

Agreed about the clean sheet thing...that would be a good result - but in saying that i'd still be troubled if we didn't score tomorrow...

My hope is Torres is making all the back pages on Thurs morn for all the right reasons, & if SAF is also featuring for having another go at the ref - even better

Torres will have his best chance this season to do what the whole country wants to see;

I could live with a 0-0. A score draw at their place would then be enough. Cant see more than 1 goal being in it but i'm predicting a 1-1 for this leg.

This could be as close as they come, away goals or pens even deciding it.

Please let Torres win it for us (or Terry!!).

Lets smash the ****in norvern cants

I will be sat in suburban South Manchester, in my lounge, with the curtains shut and hoping to **** we win.

I would like to see a Mid 3 of Mikel, Essien and Ramires. Then have Drogba on the right Zhirkov on the left and Torres as the main striker.

Drogba has a good cross and could cut in.
