United Nations General Assembly President: Syria death toll at least 80,000 By REUTERS , 15/05/2013 18:01 UNITED NATIONS - The death toll in Syria from the country's two-year civil war is at least 80,000, an increase of about 20,000 since the start of the year, the president of the UN General Assembly, Vuk Jeremic, said on Wednesday. UN.human rights chief Navi Pillay said on January 2 that more than 60,000 people had been killed during the revolt against Syrian President Bashar Assad, which began with peaceful protests but turned violent when Assad's forces cracked down. "At least 80,000 have perished since the start of the hostilities, with most of those casualties believed to be civilians," Jeremic told the 193 General Assembly members before a vote on a resolution on the Syrian conflict. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition group, said on Tuesday that at least 94,000 people have been killed but the death toll is likely to be as high as 120,000. Deafening silence from the Hard Left and their Islamist bedfellows on this.
Hello fascist, what is it you want to know. I could question why the IAF feel the need to act as al qaeda's own air force, using yet more banned weapons (depleted uranium this time). I hope the government of Assad prevails as its the last bastion of secularism in the region. Remeber that post you made about Israel treating innocent "casualties", turns out they were rebels/Islamist terrorists after all, as I had assumed.
The region is a ****ing shambles. People moan about this country and our government, but give me that over the likes of Syria, Iraq and Gaza any day.
It helps when outside countries dont start proxy wars in your country on account of the geostrategic position of your country and who you may be aligned with
Not really as they fight their wars via proxy or high up in Apache helicopters crying foul at nations that may want to buy/sell anti-air missile batteries to protect their soveriegn airspace from Israeli agression. They also seem to be making a lot of noise about Syrian shells falling on the Syrian Golan Heights
Ummm it is us and our buddies that create or created all of this **** in the first place. Then once it all kicks off, we do all we can to perpetuate it as long as possible.
Everyone knows the armed forces is full of northern trailer park trash that can't get proper jobs. So if not you, probably a good many of your gypo relatives
There's no southerners in the forces because you're all scared of breaking a nail or messing up your hair.
