Manu will become the first club to break the £300million barrier for wages when they release their accounts for the 2017-18 season. Say what you like about City, at least they are great to watch. United have been serving up dirge for six seasons now. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...United-wage-bill-pushing-close-300m-mark.html
Irrelevant snidey comment attempts by Man United fans who dont like this fact, incoming......in 3, 2, 1.......
Dunno how Ed Woodward is so good at negotiating sponsorship deals and so **** at negotiating contracts. Will not make any profit on those players - will have to pay them off to get rid of them like Rooney.
You don't think? With Juve and Barcelona seemingly wanting Pogba then I would say we will. Agree there's no sell on for Sanchez but then we didn't pay anything for him anyway. De Gea is on long term big wages but was bought cheaply and we don't want to sell anyway, the rest aren't a problem. Who we talking about that we might want to sell for profit? Our 23 year old centre forward maybe? Doubt it. Martial? Yes, we would on the £35 mill spent. I'm not defending this by the way, the wages are ridiculous and I'd quite like Pogba to leave quickly if I'm honest as I see him as a problem. Good to know my comments are irrelevant by the way, I'll leave now and let you relevant experts chat.
Au Contraire I was proved wrong Chief. Your comments were a sensible retort to CFC's post. Nothing at all like the bullshit I was expecting. So grats!
I know you were probably looking for Matth to come along and defend the indefensible but I got in first. I can't even be arsed to point out that it is actual purchase cost that makes a 'world's most expensive team', not wages. And why not extend it to worlds most expensive squad instead, be interesting to see whether we're still top. We wouldn't be by the way. Big wages I give you, and it's skewed beyond reason by the stupid contracts Sanchez and Pogba have.
Whats worse is that neither of those players has been particularly awesome for you either. Pogba has had a few great moments, but lacks consistency, and hasn't been a world beater for United imo. And Sanchez has yet to do anything of note at United thus far. Players like Mata, Lukaku, Rashford, Matic et all put in far more sweat imo.
Can't see you making much on Martial at the moment. Even if you trigger the extension beyond this season, the recent spat with Jose and the fact he's not really playing won't do much for his value. Could probably recoup the £35m. The summer window just gone was probably best time to sell.
I agree but th ink the Sanchez deal kind of hides how much you lost/ gave away with Mikhatarian. completely agree about the wages But the biggest United contract weirdness is Sanchez ... I read that he's on a wage of over 300k per week PLUS a 70k bonus every time he plays....WTF IS THE 300K FOR FFS
Fair enough- Barca have proven they aren't afraid to vastly overspend a la Cortiniho and thinking about it Woodward did manage to fleece Ajax for Blind. I rescind that part of my post - not about Woodward being **** at negotiating contracts though. £500k p/w for Sanchez ffs?
. I wouldn't/wasn't arguing about that. The blokes a joke. Gets big money preening superstars on daft money in order to secure sponsorship. Rarely secures the players we actually need.
