Mourinho going to Man U, that'll put a few cats in with a few pigeons. Giggs will be off.

Hilarious isn't it? I wonder how many of the plastics will be rejoicing at this. Will certainly make for interesting histrionics between the Manchester club managers. Poor old LVG, and how very decent of Man Utd to treat him so...

The "special one" has morphed into the "egotistical one" as far as I am concerned. He will almost certainly not want Giggs as ILD points out as Giggs would likely be more popular than him. Bad decision by the Mancs if true.

Jose doesn't seem to blood younger players but when he gets a team playing his rather functional brand of football it works wonderfully. It seems so long ago but remember he won the PL last season.

It could end up being a clever move. He can't develop youth players well, but LvG could. LvG struggled to get a decent set of players to work as a team in the PL, that's what Jose is good at. Several young players like Rashford and Lingard are now established so he will probably use them he only really manages 2/3 years anywhere so the new crop of players will be ready by then.

Not sure why people are bothered about Man Ure, and as for being decades before we beat them at OT, look at the dross we've played during this past season, yet we beat them up there, so never say never in this funny old game!

He's a very effective manger and I can't see them missing out on the top 4 next season if he gets a good transfer war chest. But the current lot of players are the worst set for united for a long time. I think the fans are going from the frying pan to the fire if they want entertainment though. It has never been a hallmark of a JM side, but after a few years of not challenging, his effective brand of footy will still make for an improvement.

    Bah!

Giggs is only there out of sentiment. He has no automatic right to be a top coach at a top club because he was a top player. Anyone who thinks he should be the next united manager needs there glory hunting head examined. He never came across as a particularly intelligent lad in interviews and I can't see Jose putting up with his underskilled and potentially devisive presence in the coaching set up. he needs to go earn his stripes in the lower leagues and if he cuts it then be given his chance on merit

    Bah!

I am really surprised that Man U never went for Mark Hughes.

Well liked at Old Trafford and reasonable record in the Prem??

I'll be interested to see how this goes. He is a class manager, I don't think he's the kind of Manager United usually go for. LVG was just sinking day by day, so much fan hate behind him.

The other interesting thing is the hate between Jose and Pep. They really don't get on. And now their stand either side of Manchester! Derby days will be great!

All the new managers at the big clubs, going to be a lot of ins and outs. Very intriguing season ahead.

I knew it would bean insane war-chest. Otherwise he wouldn't have taken the job. He likes a defensive unit. That means, he has to totally buy a new back 4.

£40m should swing the deal, after all we protected his fitness for the last 6 months by not playing him. We are a very considerate club.

Image rights holding up Jose move to United?!

That's a very strange sticking point! So United or Jose has to buy back him image rights back from Chelsea? Chelsea can be really difficult here. Also, if he did this deal with Chelsea in 2005, then how come Real Madrid etc. not have this trouble?
