A survey carried out among Manchester United fans concluded that Manchester United fans would rather see Liverpool wins their 19th title than seeing Manchester City winnig the title this year. This means than Manchester United are looking at Manchester city as their number one enemy now.Is there going to be ceasefire between Liverpool supporters and Manchester United supporters.?
They are saying they would more readily accept a hypothesis of fancy, than face the reality of Mad Citeh's threat
Mu fans in manchester would rather Liverpool won it, all others care more about Liverpool winning it and matching 19, the city derby means fk all to those living outside of manchester as does the merseyside derby outside of liverpool, I am in Dublin and I would rather see 18 on the trot titles for Everton rather than another united title
Interesting! As has been said it's because City are the current main threat. Will we become chums? God no!
i think the contributors who refer to the in city rivalries have it right. with utd we can ignore it for all but 2 games a year if we like, with everton we have to listen to it for 6 months. I'm sure if city win the league utd fans would never hear the end of it.
Here's a little straw poll which smashes your completely unfounded theory right out of the water; http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/95304-Liverpool-or-City?p=1527166#post1527166 It is quite the opposite, United fans from Manchester would rather City won the title any day of the week. As would most of the other United fans.
I'd have thought ManU fans would prefer absolutely anybody to win the league other than Liverpool- and vice versa.
Who gives a bugger what united fans think? Anyway a short thread on their board is hardly justifiable as a represenative sample anyway.
well i'm merely offering a hypothesis based on the OP. If the evidence doesn't fit the hypothesis you simply change the hypothesis unitl you get to the correct theory to fit the evidence. Given the fact that the OP hasn't exactly shown where the original point came from I can't really offer a thought one way or the other. It is fair to say any liverpool fan for the past 5 years would rather anyone even everton win the league over utd. that much is obvious. Having knocked us off our perch i think utd fans would rather keep us off it than caring much about city but then thats what i would think before the OP posted. Its very hard to see how a representative survey of a well supported club could be done as clearly fans outside of manchester or world wide won't care at all about city for a couple of years anyway while fans inside said city are not necessarally split along family lines perhaps so the rivalry may not be as intense as we in liveprool might assume if we apply the family divides we see here. Or perhaps I merely don't understand one way or the other.
Quite frankly it is irrelevant to me what United fans think on the issue raised in the poll that Suarez refers to. If you note that I put a question mark at the end of my first sentance to see if other Liverpool fans agreed with my view or not. Now the second sentance is purely based upon statistical fact (btw its actually a convenience sample and not a straw poll but the difference is insignificant in this case). There was no personal slight made or intended.
Ok then, by your own little straw poll it seems your fellow pool fans are completely indifferent to your question as no one bothered to answer it. To my knowledge this is a free speech forum and me not coming on here to 'WUM' (or whetever it's called) then I'm not overly surprised no one was remotely bothered by my input. As you'll doubtless be aware, most opinion polls are drawn from very few people relative to what they represent and I think the fact that of ten posters on our board only one, and he wasn't an actual Mancunian, backed up the idea that they'd prefer Liverpool over City. Which is why I thought it relevant to this thread.
