I stopped coming on here as I was sick of the abuse I got for voicing my long held opinion that Grayson was out of his depth and not up to the job. Now finally people are starting to see past the 'blame everything on Bates' excuse and hold SG responsible for what he is paid for. Dont get me wrong, I would like to see the back of Bates as much as the next man, but you cant sing 'there is only one Simon Grayson' when we win.... and then 'Bates out!!' when we lose again and again. This makes no sense, If you take the credit, you have to take the blame...!!! Grayson should have gone after the shocking abject failure that was last seasons run in, but he somehow managed to hang on to weaken the team further with more cr*p signings (and yes he chooses them !!) Put simply - it's time for him to go. Its plain for all to see At least with a new Manager and new ideas we will have a chance, with is better than what we have now, no chance. Rant over Grayson Out - MOT
1st Season (1/2 a season)- Play Off Semi Final 2nd Season- Promotion 3rd Season- 7th in Championship (impressive). All that managed on a peanut budget. Ofcourse he is going to pick up some ****e players on the way because he is spending so little (if he had available money don't you think he'd use it?) but he has found some absolute gems along the way like Gradel, Pre Injury Kissa, Clayton, McCormack, Lonners, Nunez ect. I'm sick of people complaining about his signings. Do they complain about the signings of Gradel, Kissa, McCormack, Lonners, Nunez and his loan signings of Lichaj, McCartney, McCarthy ect absolutely not. Give the man some credit and maybe just a bit of support to the team and we might pick up some form instead of aggregating the situation by booing and telling the gaffer to f off. Some people say we have the best fans, I disagree. Who do you intend to replace him with? Any good managers have jobs and managers in jobs won't leave them for us, how about Billy Davies? who spent his time at Forest complaining to the media about lack of funds, McClaren? (****e), Sven? Trust me, we won't find a manager who could be better on the same budget. Now if Ken gives Grayson a bit of money, Grayson will be one of the top managers in the league.
most promoted sides, start well and fade 2nd half of season like we did last season. They then struggle to consolidate 2nd season.[see millwall].There's no god given right for promotion ask florest and direby both well supported clubs.
Exactly, we should consolidate our position in the Championship this season. And then build our squad bit by bit and hopefully within the next couple of season be ready for promotion to the Prem. If we go straight up now we'll do a Blackpool and come straight back down.
I hear what you say about consolidation, but this is not consolidating.... we are going backwards, simple as that.
I'm sorry I don't totally agree, yes SG got us promoted out of LEAGUE ONE at the second attempt (after throwing away the first) , and lets face it we couldn't have been any closer to throwing it away when we went up !! and it was the THIRD DIVISION !!! But we should thank him for that.... but to me he has gone as far as he can....
well we are down Max,Somma,Snodgrass, and Howson.take four of the best out of any team and they will struggle.
don't mean to appear angry but it's sooooo frustrating... We have to face it there is life beyond Grayson, he is not the only manager in the world, and if we are so pathetic a club that the only reason we stick with a Manager who is so obviously not cutting it is fear of trying for something better, then we deserve exactly what we will get... nothing. Remember Wilkinson made us champions, but when results turned... he got the boot. No manager is irreplaceable... life goes on
Yeah Grayson out. Fancy making Gradel want to go back to France, and making Howson get injured, and giving Snodgrass appendicitis. Its all his fault, splashing all those millions and blowing it and not being in the top half if the table. Get rid of him and let someone else have a go at bringing in mediocre players cos thats all we can afford. Its OK though, we have lots of nice knives and forks to buy in the January sales for all the directors suites that keep popping up. Don't think there will be much left for players though (as usual)......
funny, sounds like Clowntime but I didn't see the word "ridiculous" used once. Unfortunately he's right. Grayson is not the man to take us forward, but if Bates is going to sack him he should **** off too.
Let's agree that under Grayson Leeds have managed to win promotion and avoided being near relegation upon our return to the Championship. I would accept that if you looked at the table and the results, you could find Grayson current situation rather strange, especially when you look at some of the players he has brought in, whilst trying to work with a senile old man who still thinks Maggie Thatcher is Prime Minister and the world of business still operates on intimidation and you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Now, let's look at the reality of the 3 years Leeds have had under Grayson, it has simply been the worst football played that I have witnessed in nearly 35 years of watching Leeds play. Inside information suggests that there is little or no respect for the man, especially (it is alleged) after he became friendly with an employee at the club and then a players wife. Grayson lacks the ability to man manage people and to understand how to get the best out of what you have. He doesn't represent the club in a manner I would wish for a senior member of staff and in many organisations he would have been moved out due to the relationship with the administration employee, whilst playing pretend happy families with his wife. Grayson was employed as a football manager and I'm sure there will be some on here who will say, that is all he should be judged on, but I disagree, he is an employee of the club and his personal actions have made his position precarious. If Leeds were sitting at the top of the league and playing some decent football week in and week out, then I would agree there would be little interest in his personal life and how this effects the club, but we aren't at the top and we will not be near the top whilst continuing to employ a man who currently has not got the level of trust, respect and ability that is required to manage a football club. I actually think Grayson will be a decent manager, once he sorts out all the personal stuff, but not at Leeds United. Anyone who wants to see the impact of a decent manager has on a club, then look at Sunderland and Martin O'Neil, 5 games played, ten points gained with the same players as Bruce had.
i still can't see the relevence between Grayson shagging a players wife (allegedly), a piss poor team performance v Barnsley and Bates being the real fool. Surely any true Leeds fan would want rid of Bates first, some players second and Grayson third
.well said.and boab,bates wouldn't replace Grayson with a Martin O'Neil.more like a Phil Brown.BIG BIG difference.
Grayson is in charge of the team - motivating, coaching and leading them....he has got us to the point we are now..STOP Blaming Bates for piss poor performances Bates is a tosser granted and he will sell one day but we will not drive him out he will go under his own steam and he will sell us one day. We will not make the Prem under Grayson..what Manager see a team leak goes for a year and signs none of any quality. before you harp on about money....loans or free's would have done the job if he new what a decent CB looked like. and surely great coaching makes a player better? Grayson has had his chance 3 years... I've backed Grayson for a long time but I'm sorry to say his time is up...he has lost the dressing room and if your the boss you can't go around shagging your staff or your employees ex wives...not good enough!
Larry can only do his best with what he is given. Seeing as we spend the least money in the league I'd say it's a pretty big achievement to even get where we are now.
