its lunchtime here but only 5 in the morning in the uk, so nowts gonna happen for ages, hardly no one awake yet exept a few geordie car twockers coming back after a night on the gas and glue. so as a time filler, has anyone ever happened to have bumped into any members of safc, totally unexpected or in any strange place, (cue for the skunks comments)
i remember as a young un delivering papers around roker and fulwell, and there was this big house a bit creepy looking actually where occasionally i forgot to deliver to, any way one day whilst pissing down i was going up the drive to said house, when the door opened and the wifey said i could wait in the lobby till it eased off, standing there like a drowned skunk a figure appeared with a towel and some chocolate, to my suprise it was none other than our hero bob stokoe. needless to say his papers were delivered everyday then on, a top man never to be forgotten

p.s for the mags, a paper round was a job you did before going to school and afterwards. google job if you dont understand:emoticon-0100-smile

I went to birmingham away the year we got promoted under Roy Keane it was a tuesday night game drew 1 1.After the game me and a mate of mine went out round the brum as we decided to stay over. After a few drinks we decided to go to a little bar down this side street. We walked in and stood in the corner was Sir Niall,Bobby Saxton and a few others didn't know who they were.Within 5 minutes we were talking to Bobby and about 10 minutes after that Sir Niall joined us we must of stood and chatted for nearly 2 hours about footy a night i will never forget before they had to leave they were both complete gentleman taking time out to talk to us.Sir Niall even gave me his official club tie which he said you couldn't buy it's safely stashed away as you can imagine. As you can imagine totally unexpected.

Years ago when i was at a night match with me fatha at Roker Park , we had to leave early (none of could drive, me fatha liked a drink too much & i was only 9 or summit) we were walking past the old entrance outside & mick mccarthy came out , got talking to him and he was there scouting noen other than shay Given.

When we beat Sheff Utd away 1-0 & Kevin Kyle scored the winner, on the way back up home we stopped in a petrol station and Kyle was there, we had a few words & then hours later he was arrested for kicking some one in the head back up home, i must have angered him!

A few weeks ago i was talking to Bruce's mate Gary Pallister in our local, most recently seen our very own frazier campbell who was obviousley a few quid down (with no appearance fee's or goal bonus) as he was staying in the same travelodge opposite Bloomfield Road

When I first started dating the wife we went to Durham for a night out. We were stood in a bar (not sure which one) and I said to the wife, look at that woman, she looks like 'Pocahontas'. When she walked away back to the fruit machine she was stood next to none other that SUPER KEV. After about ten minutes I was stood at the bar and he came up. I asked him autograph. I had nothing on me so I ripped the beer matt in half and he signed that. The next day I was in Seaham having a drink in the Phoenix. It was strange because there was loads of Sunderland fans on a long table. There must have been 40 of them. a couple of minutes later, none other than Sir Quinn walked through the door. Yes I got another autograph but didn't really get to talk with him. What I did notice was he went round the whole table and talked with everyone. It must have been pre-arranged because everyone was with their books for him to sign. He must have stayed for at least 3 hours. What a gent!

Stockport away yonks ago was on the same train as Peter Taylor (then England U21 manager) who said he was up to see Bridges play. On the return journey home the very same Peter Taylor was on the train, pissed off that Bridges didnt get played! <doh>

Same game bumped into Chris Makin with his family pre match, got a picture and he gave me a hubba bubba. Very random!

Another that springs to mind is the promotion securing Barnsley away game, could only get tickets in home end. When the players came out to celebrate with the fans, looked across the main stand and none other than the 'Son of Pele' was stood there beaming! Legend...

Was drinking on Swindon station with Chris Kamara (pre Sky Sports fame), decent bloke!
