So that's it then Kevin 'I wont score many goals' Doyle, (Wolves must be delirious to get his wage of the books), an unknown Brazilian kid that isn't fit and that Harry hasn't even seen play, and the sick note brothers Bobby Z and AJ, this is the strike force that is going to get us into the prem is it.... Can't see it myself. Totally gutted regards Austin. We seem to have ended the transfer window in a worse state then when it started... Never a good sign. Oh and bloody Caesar is still here - lets at least hope something last minute happens with him.
I can't believe TF's ambitions don't go further than this. Second in the division, and he must know that what we had before Austin's injury was more than we have now, however optimistically anyone looks at the position.
I think Doyle could be very good signing. Can't been easy playing for wolves as they went into freefall. He scored in the PL even if not too regular. He wants to get in Irish squad. He will be eager and will always give 100% and an honest player who will give his all.. I for one am very happy with his signing.. 1st goal tomorrow a banker for him and ye know how good my tips are....
Wells £2m and Grabban £1.5m were missed opportunities. Think Aaron Hughes and Doyle are good signings/squad players but our midfield needs to suddenly start scoring goals now because Doyle wont get more than 7 or 8 at best between now and end of season Bring back ADEL!!
I'm pleased that we haven't splashed the cash. We've got some sensible cover in and now Redknapp will have to show that he can manage.
for a one man team I cant see us scoring the goals we need now. Either Harry has a massive lack of understanding at this level (every now and then i think this is the case) or Fernandes hasnt given him the funds we need for a like for like replacement for Austin. I have no faith in any possible first 11 now to be able to take us to the premiership. All you really need in the Championship is a good goalscorer and we now dont have one.
We really don't know how the new signings are going to perform or how they're going to be utilised. Remember Samba? We thought we'd died and gone to heaven when we signed him. We hadn't, we'd just died. Nelsen? We all thought, who is this? He turned out to be far better than we thought. Every window we've brought in people who either underperformed or surprised us with a bit of unexpected quality. On paper, none of them look great. But let's give them a few games T least before we write them off.
We are second and I thank Harold for that but it's pointless me ranting off how what i think about him ... If we miss out on promotion I think there could be a massive backlash and he will walk ... Only then maybe will some people realise exactly what has happened at our club. I think Doyle may have a point to prove but no one would be a guaranteed hit so again i state ... lets get on with it as we have goals to score now to win games and so far 1 has been enough at times. I like to hope for a twist of fate and BZ and AJ can do this ... experience counts .. it has to and if it does we will all feel full of confidence ... Burnley themselves look as fragile as anyone if they lose any player to injury ... we are lucky to have that strength in depth
We're faves with Bet Victor for Scot Hogan, Connor Wickham, and Stevie May. Fryatt and Graham would be good options too.
The loan market opens a week after this window closes, as far as I am aware. Someone special could come in then when whatever club he comes from has secured all their signings. All is not lost........yet!!!
TF has learnt his lesson. Maybe, Rhodes' agent was trying to get him wages that would upset the apple-cart. Would it be good if he came in on double Charlie's wages: I'd say no thank you very much. There's still time left. Question TF's ambition after the window shuts (or after the loan window shuts)!
It was intended as an open question rather than a conclusion. As you say, the window is still open and the club may yet have something up their sleeve.
VERY good point there mate. I'm totally pissed off but refuse to slag any of our new lads off before they've kicked a ball wearing the hoops.
Oh yes, your first sentence was ambiguous, but your tone (no pun intended) sounded negative and critical. I still think that something might happen.
