carrying on from the other thread here are my choices : Michael Carrick - he doesn't get the credit he deserves at times, he's been fantastic for us this season and i hope he gets named in the pfa team of the year, our fans don't realise how important he is to us, look at last year in the champions league, we missed him against Basel, also he should've been named in the England squad more times than he should. Leon Osman - he's not a big name i know but he's been under the radar for the last few years, i'm a bit shocked that none of the so called top 4 haven't picked him up, he would be ideal at Arsenal.
I don't think he's good enough Dave, i remember when we played Arsenal last year and he was awful against us.
Carrick Hoilett Jagielka Baines Peinaar Walcott Sandro Cabaye Ben Arfa Ba Sturridge Shawcross Huth Walters De Guzman Graham Nolan Progrebnyak Sessegnon Glen Johnson
If agree with you Matth, Mertersacker just isn't mobile enough for me. Arsenal are kind of forced into playing him though, as they are a very small team without him, and Koscielny is to adventurous for my liking
Glen Johnson is a very good right back, arguably the best in the PL. I always try to be impartial, I'm not just going to dislike a player because they play for Liverpool
He's better than Joe Allen, whch is why Swansea are still thriving and Allen hasn't really kicked on at Liverpool. The top player in Swansea's midfield last season was Britton, not Allen. Not saying he'd make top four side, i'm saying he's under rated. He's a quality player who has played through all four divisions and does not look out of place in the premier league at all. His only weakness being that he is genuinely a bit on the lightweight side, so if it came to top four or europe he might indeed fall short but that's not the question of the OP.
That would mean breaking the law that states Gerrard and Lampard must always be picked and never, ever, dropped if fit and that jounalists decide which clubs the England managers are allowed to pick players from. He's got no chance, this law has stated that Michael Carrick, the most succesful English centre midfield player of his generation bar none, is not allowed to get a look into England's squads while Lampard and Gerrard are about.
