I went down to the training ground to watch the U21s draw 1-1 with a strong QPR side that included Bobby Zamora and Luke Young. Jack Munns scored for us with a header, believe it or not. Polish Pete played and looks no better than Michael Smith. Anil KOC also played and looks no better that the players we already have in the academy. Leon Cort played for sixty minutes before giving way to Kevin Feely.

The first team squad were training and It looked like Damien Matthew was taking the session with the new Manager and assistant observing from the sidelines. I was told by an official that they haven't formally signed yet.
Coming in and going out I had to run the gauntlet of Sky peeps.

The team for the U21s was
    Phillips
Muldoon, Cort( sub Feely), Lennon, Fox
KOC, Gerard,( sub Daniel) Hollands, Munns
    Polish Pete, Jordan Cook.

    Subs not used Doherty, Brown

How did Cort play? Be good to have him back, offers a threat from set pieces.

Also heard that Luke Young appeared for Queens Park Rangers... How did look after all these years? (As he's not had much First Team action the last few years due to injury)

Luke Young looked good. Neil Harris the Millwall coach was there, don't know who he was looking at.

Nice to see Cort back for his sake but we would have to be pretty desperate to bring him back into the team ahead of Morro, Wood, Dervite or Lennon willingly. That is a pretty lack-lustre line-up. No-one there who could come into the first-team this season and improve it. But unless we sign yet more eurotrash we will be seeing quite a lot of them because otherwise we will run out of players to fulfil our enormous backlog of fixtures.

I am pleasantly surprised they are even that good.

Azeez scored twice to give Daggers a rare away win, and Michael Smith scored again for Swindon. He must be worth twice whatever they paid for him already.
