The game was enlivened by a small but noisy contingent from Upper North who gave the team good support throughout. I was quite surprised to see BWP playing. I was also surprised to read in the report on the OS that when he went off after 57minutes our attacking threat disappeared. He was paired up front with Harriott who makes Pritchard look statuesque such is his appetite for hard work, and looked disinterested by comparison. Still, it's all about opinions. Button made two world class double saves in the first half but then fumbled an easy take to give away a silly corner. One of those games where defenses are on top, although Harriott came closest with a wonderful curler which came back off the post. Taylor played the full 90 minutes and looked fit, even finding time for some surging runs upfield in the second half. Ruben had a decent game after an early howler nearly gave a goal away. My MOM would jointly be our full-backs Cousins and Fox.
Thanks FHB - looks like BWP is being sharpened up for our two tough home games ahead. Always rated Harriott and he looked very quick pre-season.
I like to hear that the north upper are really putting it into the club. Reminds me of my youth, used to go to every game my paper round could afford. I even had a homemade rattle that gave me splinters, it was so dangerous, my mates used to say it was like trafalgar when I spun it.
