Yesterday marked 2 weeks until the start of the new league season for us. We have seen a few changes at our club with 4 new signings and have faced a summer of speculation over Suarez's future. We have seen 3 of our closest rivals change managers and one look slower than ever in the transfer market. Whilst the other has faced the same speculation over their star player as us. Some lower teams have been involved in some intriguing business to. So 2 weeks to go. Excited. Optimistic. Curious. Anxious, Nervous? The count down begins.
Two weeks to go and only Man City and Tottenham have strengthened their squads. I guess that means if our signings are an improvement then we have closed the gap slightly on the others subject to what happens between now and 11pm on 2nd September! PS...yep, this is a sympathy post
Quite excited to see our current team in competitive games, and will be very excited if we get a couple more signings
Quietly Optimistic. All 4 signings look as though they will add to the team Preseason has gone very well Shelvey has gone Downing may be sidelined Suarez is still here ( for now) Bale going will weaken spurs who have also had poor preseason Everton have new manager and not impressed by new signings Arsenal won't get Suarez and if they don't move on will end up signing no one City are not our target United very subdued in transfer market and with new manager think they won't win the title this season but they are not our target either nor are Chelsea So all in all I am quietly optimistic. If we bring in at least two of the 'bigger' name players we have been linked with I think we will get top 5 but it is absolutely vital we hit the ground running.
Impatient and hopeful of top four for us, of course. Sneaky feeling Chavski will edge the league. Mourinho back with his boys, not too much change. City for all their riches have a new manager/almost new squad and I think it will take them a season to work out how to fit it all together, after that it does look ominous from them. Utd need a big signing, especially if Rooney goes. Fabregas would add an extra something to their side, goals from midfield. Spurs and Arsenal stalling/going backward, but the former are probably gonna have the big bucks soon.
Not sure you can say Suarez will stay and Bale will go, clearly choosing the best of both worlds there
