18:38 22nd November 2014 courtesy of Swans News . . . youngsters extend unbeaten run with thumping win The Under-18s produced a dominant performance to record a thumping 7-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Fairwood. Rangers took an early lead from the penalty spot but the hosts were 5-2 up at the break thanks to a hat-trick from Owain Jones and strikes from Kyle Copp and Dan James. Swansea continued their dominance in the second period as Copp completed his treble with another two goals - one of which was a fine free kick. âWeâve been creating a lot of chances recently," said coach Cameron Toshack. âWe knew if we maintained our focus and continued to create those chances then goals would come and today they have and we have made them count. âWe have worked the ball well into wide areas and provided good crosses for the front men. âOur execution at set pieces was good, meaning we scored a few goals from free-kicks and corners. âOur transition into attack through the front men and wingers â Stevie Fallon, Dan James, Kyle Copp and Owain Jones â was breathtaking at times. âIâm pleased the team are starting to gel together, in recent weeks we have improved our passing patterns, defensive positioning and attacking formations. âDiscipline, organisation and balance has been key for me and the coaches and to be fair to the players have started to make big strides in those areas.â SWANS U18s: Lewis Thomas, Aaron Lewis (Ben Jones), Cai Owens, Cameron Gilchrist, Joe Rodon, Jamie Latham (Adnan Maric), Dylan Thomas, Kyle Copp, Stevie Fallon, Dan James (Brandon Griffiths), Owain Jones. The Under-18s next face Colchester United away in Development League Two South at Florence Park next Saturday (November 29).
Where can we find up to date tables for our development and academy teams? I have asked the club several times via the website and they keep on ignoring me, not had a single reply. As much as I hate to say it, our club need to do a hell of a more to reach an acceptable standard as far as the website is concerned. You'd swear they didn't have any money to spend on recruiting office staff.
