My understanding was that for some reason KJ was never interested in Le Fondre. I can't understand why because he has been a profilic scorer in the lower leagues, is only in his mid twenties and was available at a price we could afford . If we had tried to sign him earlier in the close season I am sure he would have accepted an offer within our wages scale bearing in mind what he must have been earning at Rotherham. Be interesting to see how many goals he scores for Reading by the end of the season.

and we have bought no one after being given all this we could spend a million on a striker rubbish lets hope KJ has something up his sleeve <doh>

Realised a long time ago that you can't believe what they tell you. Going to end up with no one at this rate except someone that no one wants and does nothing to improve the squad. The money was not available - the board want to help pay the debt and the wage structure is a convenient excuse.

Speculate to accumulate and KJ isn't speculating and we won't accumulate. We bought Moro from a much lower division than LeFondre for instance but now he looks to want players for next to nothing. Lost interest in players we are 'looking to get in' as many weeks have passed and nothing exciting has happened. This lack of ambition off the pitch leads to much the same on it.

only one loss in 5 but I agree we wont be challenging for playoffs without some quality signings which clearly are not going to happen. 400k for le Fondre was not a gamble, very poor from KJ.

This guys still available if we get desperate <whistle>

you can use the red card as an excuse and they have got decent players to be fair <ok>

yes we should have won today, like we should have beat peterborough and reading. So already dropped 6pts we shouldn't have and god help us when we start playing badly <yikes>

350k is a slap in the face to every wall fan who so desperately wanted KJ to sign him. I'm sure most wall fans would've been happy for us to part with 800k let alone half that figure. I just don't understand the clubs ambition. The past 3 seasons have been fantastic and I, like many believe we have the potential to make a real push for the playoffs. Unfortunately it seems the board don't share that ambition, with the lack of signings we have seen so far and the quality in the signings we have made. For **** sake we've got £4-5 million to spend. Where's the investment? I understand we've got a wage structure and as frustrating as it is when another club comes in and offers more money to a player were interested in, I respect the boards decision to not offer wages beyond our means. It pissed me off though when there is a young, hungry player with a proven goal scoring record and we turn a blind eye.

After watching our display against reading I felt very optimistic about our season, unfortunately our season is going to be very different if we don't add some quality in these few coming days

    Come on JB and KJ!

I thought we paid more for McQuoid who I don't think is up to this league's standard so KJ has some strange ideas about signings - remember George Friend? We were bidding a lot more on Punch and Austin and look where that went?

Here's my take on the debacle we are in. KJ offered a one year contract which surprised me as would have thought 2 years at least was a better bet and this is suspect as to what the board believe he is capable of at this level. With the loss of our biggest asset and McQuoid not looking anything like the same I don't think the board will allow KJ a large part of the funds no matter what the reports are. I think KJ is ok getting a lot out of limited squads but don't think he's the best at this level where you can't buy 'budget' players and really compete. The facts are we signed the southampton and spurs players who had flair and improved so much but without them (and also Moro) we are looking like a very average squad at best and needed some flair as we had but also some goal scorers; M&M aren't yet ready for this level and Hendo is a stop gap.

Not sure rhodes is right for us but saw Austin scored twice and now LeFondre has signed would be pleased if he did well (not against us of course) to prove a point.
