Looking at our current squad it is very unbalanced by the fact we have far to many forwards in the squad and the fact we are very, very lightweight in midfield and defence.

GK's: Green, Paddy, Murphy, Cerny (4)

DEF: Young, Traore, Nelsen, Ferdinand, Onouha, Hill. (6)

MID: Diakite, Faurlin, Derry, Wright-Phillips, Mackie, Taarabt, Barton (12 game ban), Buzsaky (If he actually renews his contract). (7 or 8)

ATT: Johnson, Campbell, Bothroyd, Zamora, Cisse, Hulse, Balanta, Smith, Helguson (8)

So our current 1st team squad has 25 players (Not including Buzsaky) but is overloaded with attacking players if you add Mackie, Taarabt and Wright-Phillips to the 8 forwards / strikers at the club and yet I suprised to read that yesterday that we are looking to offload our only recognised right back before we have a replacement?

For me, I would look to offload Bothroyd, Campbell and Rob Hulse. I would keep Tommy Smith for now as he can be used in the wide midfield positions and add at least another 2 defenders and 2 midfielders before we think about offloading Luke Young.

I can also see Balanta going out on a 6 moth loan for experience and match fitness.

Reckon we'll sign three more this month, in defence and midfield. And maybe lose at least two of those strikers/forwards.

I think it is fairly safe to say Campbell, Bothroyd, Hulse, Smith + maybe Balanta being loaned out will not be at the club for very muck longer.

I would also trim the midfield by taking off Barton & Buzz plus Kenny from the keepers

    GK's: Green, Murphy, Cerny (3)
DEF: Traore, Nelsen, Ferdinand, Onouha, Hill. (5)
MID: Diakite, Faurlin, Derry, Wright-Phillips, Mackie, Taarabt, (6)
ATT: Johnson, Zamora, Cisse, Helguson (4)

    I think we need 2 CBs, 2 FBs, 1 DM, 1AM, 1 Winger, 1 target man, 1 pacy forward.

That will mean a 27 man squad meaning we need 2 u21s, Fabio and one other.

We are light in all areas except goalies when you take out the guys who will leave.

    This, ffs....

The transfer window has been open for 33 hours. We have already done more business than the rest of the Premier League clubs combined. The board are all saying there's more to be done. And yet we're already fearing the worse because the right players aren't in place now?

Tell you this. It's a heck of a good base of a squad at the start of the transfer window. Lot of teams I wouldn't swap our squad for. Upwards from here
