Just tried to look at Argyles new web page.......good grief that looks a messy set-up......just like the team today.
It was only a friendly it's true but you could hardly imagine a worse start to a new season. With the benefit of hindsight, it wasn't a very good idea to start with a very first game against League 1 Yeovil to be followed up with Truro, Weston-S-M & Tiverton. If you put that list the other way around you'd expect a much better run-in to the real games. I suppose when you're down in the bargain basement, beggars can't be choosers. It also tells you that whilst we probably have more promising youngsters than we deserve, you can't expect to win games with them making up half the outfield contingent. Amongst other things, it's not the way to bring them on and hardly fair to them. The new website needs work too.... no proper mobile page yet for a start. but hopefully it will be better than the old premiumtv lashup eventually. If there's one thing I can't stand it's sites that try to ram pay-services and on-line betting down your throat!
Argyle's official site says that Chadwick will not miss the beginning of the season.......will he be suspended at sometime or not ?
Argyle's next game.....away to Weston-super-Mare tonight.......The evening that the Olympic opening ceremony takes place.......now is that good planning or not?
I think you'll make it to the 2nd round of the league cup. We have 6 players left, all of whom have to be sold by 10 August or the club will close. That just leaves the small matter of who we can put out on the park! We have a rag-tag bunch of triallists and kids at the moment who have so far been beated 4-0 by Gibralter and 5-1 by Brighton. Assuming we do survive it looks like we'll be joining you in League Two for the 2013-14 campaign.
