    Sorry… I know there have been some disgraceful shows from them in the past, but they have simply blown their own ****ishness out of the water by refusing permission for clubs to play the national anthem to the clubs this week. Absolutely crazy

    Have teams ever played the national anthem before games? Are people only twisting about now because of the Queen?

    I think playing the Anthem would be a great show of respect for something probably once in a lifetime event (70 years). Considering the Americans play land of the free at the start of an argument, it wouldn't be such a bad thing.

    Even if they stop it officially at club level , they can’t stop the crowd . Hope the fans would sing it even louder in that case

    It was requested as a mark of respect for the queen. Nobody plays it except at the olympics I believe.
