Note that the last two match weeks now overlap with the England season January (which means fixture congestion for those PL clubs on League cup SF +/- FA cup R4 duty)
If the EL fixtures are correct, then from : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024–25_EFL_Cup#Access Spurs will have their League cup R3 tie on the week of Sept 16.

I've read it two or three times and largely lose interest halfway through, which means I still don't understand the new EL format, other than the salient point which is UEFA's favourite equation: More fixtures = more money ME WANT MONEEEEEYYYY
Yeah I gave up at roughly that point too. The expanded 36-team Europa League sees each team play eight games - four at home and four away - in the league system, against two opponents from each of the four seeding pots, which means the number of matches in the new format will increase from 125 to 189. Teams who finish in the top eight will qualify automatically for the last 16, while those who place ninth to 24th will compete in a two-legged knockout play-off for the chance to ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
It's ****. The concept's ****, the execution is ****, the staggered draws are **** and the direction of the game as a whole is ****. **** the Super League and **** this awful attempt to placate the ****ers behind it, including our lot.
Europa League game schedule : Matchday One: Sept. 25-26, 2024 Matchday Two: Oct. 3, 2024 Matchday Three: Oct. 24, 2024 Matchday Four: Nov. 7, 2024 Matchday Five: Nov. 28, 2024 Matchday Six: Dec. 12, 2024 Matchday Seven: Jan. 23, 2025 Matchday Eight: Jan. 30, 2025
It seems a very good format to me. The smaller teams get matches against two of the best teams in it and two extra matches in total. The qualification rules for the knockout phase mean that most of the matches will matter to at least one of the teams involved. I think they should cap the number of minutes each player can play in a season though....more matches for each club must be a good thing but more minutes for players isn't.
EL2 opponents/fixtures for Chelsea [10] : Gent [46] - H Heidenheim [??] - A Astana [136] - A Shamrock Rovers [154] - H Panathinaikos [225] - A Noah [382] - H Last game may be cancelled due to flooding.
Note : - League cup SF : week 6 January / 3 February - FA cup R3/R4 : week 11 January / 8 February The FA appear to have adjusted the League cup SF and FA cup R3/R4 dates to attempt to ease the fixture compression that the 8 game UEFA format could potentially cause.
We get to visit Davinson Sanchez in Turkey and Son gets to try to repeat this against Carrier Bag: We also get to play against one of the most hated teams in Germany. Hoffenheim is a village of a little over 3,000 people. Their stadium has a capacity of 30,150.
