That's being kind they also overlooked; Friedel, Walker, King, Dawson, Benny, Lennon, Sandro, Modric, Defoe and VDV for those rubbish players.
Interesting to see how they 'massaged' the categories. No holding midfielder, yet they have attacking midfielder. No striker, just two forwards. Not sure how a manager with all of the best players is picked as the best or a keeper who rarely has much to do is in there, but it's nice to see Bale in such company. Kompany should probably be in it, actually!

So happy to see this, got a mate who supports ManUsa (I live nr London so make sense he supports them) and he insists Bale isn't that good and that only Spurs fans rate him highly. He got a text from me immediately when I saw this earlier, surprisingly he hasn't text back.

i dont like Pique either..yeh hes good but to suggest hes the best of 2 centre backs last year???? if im not mistaken im sur our Ledley played a match last year!!!
He's better this year, I'd say. He had a spectacular game against Inter, but this year he's torturing defenses on a more regular basis, and doing it from different positions. All the cards he draws don't show up in the statistics, he's played mostly wide, and he's still one of the leaders in combined goals and assists. He's the only one who'd walk into the Barca side from the Prem. I'd also prefer Kompany to Pique, no question. And it's stupid not to have a holding midfielder.

I'm happy for Bale, but it's a popularity contest, at the end of the day. If there was an excellent right-back playing for some obscure Russian side, then he'd have no chance.
