Just because the west has an irrational hate of Russia, and use the media to skew the general publics view of their country, doesn't mean everyone has to follow suit. Thankfully we are being a bit more open minded by the looks of things. They've never hosted it which is shocking to be honest. They showed in 2018 they can deliver on the big stage. It was a resounding success with all the scaremongering proving completely unfounded. Essentially they should be the most tournament ready to step into the breach as the most recent host of one. Makes sense to me this.
Lets face it though, it would just be salty western countries that Russian brown bags were bigger. I'm sure the 1966 World Cup was awarded to England as a result of us being the outstanding candidate
