For a team having difficulties in scoring, Liverpool sure had a goal-fest in Switzerland against the Young Boys, coming out 5-3 winners after being 3-2 down. Looks like Newcastle battened down the hatches for a 0-0 draw away. Just getting ready to leave the office, so looking forward to catching a bit of the Spurs game. Barton made his Marseille debut in Turkey and after he was substituted 2-0 down, OM managed to pull back 2 goals to secure a 2-2 draw. "Joey Barton's night has come to an early end - after being substituted on his Marseille debut. The on-loan QPR midfielder was withdrawn in the 71st minute with the French side losing 2-0 at Fenerbahce."
The YBB manager pulled an Adkins, they just went 3-2 up and pulled of the guy who just scored without him touching the ball again. I dont know why the managers dont even take it seriously, why go to all the trouble of qualifying only to throw out a reserve team. Even the crap (Euro wise) teams like Liverpool and Newcastle are doing it. Spurs are taking it seriously though.
Ah the ****dorfstadion - so quite appropriate then to say the Young Boys played like a bunch of ****ers! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/****dorf_Stadium Spurs not getting the job done tonight, even with a relatively strong squad.
I only saw a small amount of the Spurs game. They looked quick and fast on the wings but slow in midfeild. If we can stop the wingers on Sunday I feel we can pass the ball through their midfield. Faurlin and Granero will be our match winners.
White board or not, that would be indecent in front of 38,000 people! (sorry, couldn't resist) Spurs looked sharp tonight (especially first half) but that was due to the energy they put in. They don't look great defensively with LB being weak and their CB's relatively new as a partnership. We'll probably want the same line up that started the second half on Saturday Saturday (swap Anton obviously) to start with and then open it up as they tire later on.
