Football's reigning European body have announced that they've opened disciplinary proceedings against the Rome side after a number of problems during our tie there in November.
http://www.uefa.com/uefa/footballfirst/matchorganisation/disciplinary/news/newsid=1910592.html?

As well as the obvious racism, which we also saw when they visited WHL, they've also been charged with:
Throwing of missiles and/or fireworks by their supporters, incidents of a non-sporting nature, late team arrival at the stadium, and late handling of the team sheet.
Other than that they were fine! <laugh>

We've also been charged with something relating to 'crowd disturbances', whatever that's supposed to mean.
Not sure what we're alleged to have done, other than have a few fans getting their heads kicked in outside the ground in the days before the game.
Sounds like another Serbia v England U21 debacle, to me.

Strange, I hadn't heard of any trouble from our fans. Like you I'm a bit skeptical about whether we actaully did anything wrong or they're just trying to appear 'balanced'.

Anyone know what happened with the West Ham fans chanting in the end? I know the Premier League/FA were waiting for us to pass on our evidence but I would've thought we'd done that by now. I guess Trevor Brooking must have destroyed it.

It's amusing reading if you search for 'UEFA crowd disturbances'. To me it looks like the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body have held a meeting, invited the chief dictionary reader, and discussed, at length, suitable catch-all phrases that encompass all things fan behaviour related.

"Crowd disturbances" is the old hooliganism but you can’t use that word, as it’s seen as too negative in modern day football 2013. It like the wind creating a disturbance with a tree’s leaves. Mustn’t get upset about such a thing. ‘Tis only the wind.

Do that search, pick an article at random, all the words are repeated time and time again. It’s almost as if UEFA write these newspaper reports using drop-down lists. <doh>

e.g.

improper conduct of supporters

throwing of missiles

improper conduct of supporters

the setting off and throwing of fireworks

displaying of illicit banners

throwing of missiles

incidents of an unsporting nature

You've had the vague book of bureaucracy thrown at ye.

They see stuff they don't like but have no rules for so they call it something general that is in the rules

In other news, FIFA has charged the Spurs fan knifed by Lazio supporters for damaging the knife.
