Wrong forum for this, but I know nobody on the football section. I'm a Rugby League and Union fan who knows next to nothing about players of the round ball game. I've been watching the games of late as the tournament starts to get really serious, but I need help with who the movers and shakers are on the pitch. Who should I be looking at and what are these people are admired for. Who are the play makers, strikers, speed men and keepers etc. Thanks in advance.
First off it is UEFA Cyc Within the 8 teams left you have the 2 best players in the world - Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and Lionel Messi at Barcelona. Both can win games individually, score and create a ridiculous amount of goals and both fit the word "genius". They have their excellent supporting casts (Neymar and Suarez at Barcelona, Bale and Benzema at Madrid). Real have to overcome local rivals Atletico to reach the semis after a goalless first leg but really ought to be capable of that. Barcelona comfortably saw off PSG last night and look hot favourites to progress. Dark horses could be Porto who beat Bayern last night.
As Sergeant Schultz oh so often said. "I know nothing!" For quite some time now I heard the Bayern were playing good football, so I've been wondering about their chances in the second leg against Porto. Been reading that the First leg was one of the worst performances of the Guardiola era. It seems that because of injuries, the team has looks as though it's run out of steam.
