U21 Premier League Cup - Round of 8:

    Fulham or Arsenal v Chelsea
    Wolves v Reading or Watford
    Newcastle United v Manchester City
    Exeter City v Burnley

That draw means that Patrick Vieira's side must travel to Tyneside for U21 league and cup fixtures on dates yet to be confirmed.

Get past Man City and the under 21's could be bringing a trophy home.

I hope quite a few of us will be able to get along and cheer them on a bit.

Is this the U21 Cup where we got beat and reinstated because Birmingham fielded an ineligible 30 year old who scored the winner?

Birmingham City have withdrawn from the Under-21 Premier League Cup after fielding an ineligible player.

Loan striker Aaron Mclean scored twice in Blues' 2-1 win over Newcastle United at St Andrew's on Tuesday.

That took Blues into the competition's last 16.

But it has emerged that Mclean played for parent club Hull City against Derby County in the second qualifying round.

Blues faced being booted out of the competition and so opted to withdraw 'in order to protect the integrity of the Under-21 Premier League Cup'.

Newcastle will now face Leicester City at home in the next round.

The guy looks nearer 40 than 21 and built like a tank.

I see Drennan was playing but no mention of how he did.

A belated home rally saw substitute Nelson's header tipped over for a corner and Beadling blast wide when well placed but the away win was thoroughly merited and puts United in the driving seat for the next meeting of the sides - in an FA Youth Cup tie at SJP on Monday week.

Team: Pearson, Sterry (Cobain 75), Cameron, Olley, McKinnon, Booth, Barlaser, Drennan, Heardman (Hall 83), Kemen, Roberts (Kerridge 86) Subs n/u: Gibson, Smith.

Anybody going along to see the youngsters and cheer them on a bit?

Doing very well at the moment, win one more game and they'll be going to Wembley.
