Our U18s have just been confirmed as winners of the Premier Academy Group D, having beaton Barnsley 1-0 this afternoon.

Good news for our boys who have secured their spot in the season-ending national playoffs.

    Full update here: http://www.nufc.com/

The four group winners contest two one-off semi-finals (settled via extra time and/or pens if required) on or around May 5th, with the winners going forward into a one-off final scheduled to be on or around May 12th.

Only one other group has been settled so far, with Leicester City clinching the B title. Group A won't be settled until this Saturday, with Fulham needing to beat Norwich at home in order to overhaul current leaders Southampton.

Group C meanwhile is a fight between Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers, with a victory at Crewe today enough to confirm the Sky Blues as champions.

Good news! I'm hopeful we'll see some emerging english talent (north east preferably) busting out of our academy over the next few years.
