To be safe the general consensus seems to be we need 52points for survival, these are our remaining games, how many points do you think we will achieve to hold on to our league status..? So 20 point is our target. Here are my hopes.. Bristol City Fixtures March 2014 Bristol City V Gillingham........3 points Shrewsbury V Bristol City.......1 points Peterborough V Bristol City......0 points Bristol City V Swindon.............3 points Colchester V Bristol City ........0 points Bristol City V Port Vale............1 points Rotherham V Bristol City.........0 points April 2014 Bristol City V Preston .............1 points Walsall V Bristol City..............0 points Bristol City V Notts County.......3 points Stevenage V Bristol City..........3 points Bristol City V Crewe.................3points May 2014 Crawley V Bristol City..............3 points Total.......................................53 points 6 Wins - 3 Draws - 3 Lose..===> 21 points + 32 points gives us 53 points and survival. Show us what you think..?
The most worrying aspect of our fixture list is that our last 4 games are the most winnable- I fear it could be too late by then and any wins would be meaningless. Its going to be a very interesting finish, and the teams that stay up are the ones that usually want to. Sheff U are a good example of this right now. We will see how much fight and determination we have to stay up as it certainly wasn't there last year.
I see 16 points from the list. That gives us 48 which I don't think will be enough We wont have the balls to get anything at the likes of Crawley, Stevenage or even Shrewsbury
I've been reckoning on 48 points for a while- Not enough unless we can find 4 worse.- All that is, is turning a couple of draws into wins- How often have we let that slip this season?-Hence our predicament.
My target based on previous season's safety level has always been 53 points but I don't begin to think that this manager and team are capable of reaching that target. An extra 4 or 5 points from some games we should have done better in would have greased the wheels in our quest, but the wheels have stopped turning for us and in about 2 weeks, without a rapid change of fortune, they will fall off completely.
We've wasted sooooo many chances and have thrown away points, especially at home by losing to the likes of Coventry and Sheff Utd and drawing with the likes of Shrewsbury, Colchester, Bradford, Oldham, Tranmere etc. Just turning 2 or 3 of those games into 3 points would have made a huge difference. Time is running out to get wins. Gillingham are not in great form coming to us but for once we need to get a grip and get the job done. Our GD hasn't been too bad to date, but the stuffing we took at Sheffield last week hasn't helped If I was SC I'd be saying to the players individually 'stand up and for once really be counted for the remaining games of this season'
West Brom have won 4 games out of 27. Drawn 13 and lost 10. Similar sort of statistics to our own. Too few wins, lot of draws.-They are one place above relegation zone- After just 6 games, manager is already under threat- A bit knee jerk in my opinion, but they clearly don't want to go down. Personally, I think they will. There seems to be a few sulks etc and you cant see them getting too many more wins when they have only won 4. Too many similarities in the stats for my liking.
And in Anelka they have their own version of JET...... It's so tight at the bottom of the Prem, as it is in L1 that it's perm any 3 (or 4) from around 8 clubs to go down in the Prem and any 4 from 13 clubs in L1 right up to Bradford.
ominous turn in the weather, for weeks the rain has been straight at my window or from the left, SW , as I type the rain with odd bit of sleet comes from the right the north..................... I ve done many "PREDICTIONS" over the past month, one eye on the sleeping dogs..Crawley and Sheff...Crawley because even as their games in hand mounted, 3 points in 9 was always a factor, and Sheff who being " cup tied" were always likely to win a few. the secret is not in how many points but where the points come from, especially the bottom 10 or so teams involved. A point from Shrews and nil from Colchester is absolutely no good......and expecting 3 from SWINDLES is wishful thinking, and I think Crawley at the end of the season will be a hard nut to crack. Again, and those dissenters in the past have been laid to rest in a couple of instances, the teams fighting the drop are/will be our best allies....
THE MOST IMPORTANT FIXTURES, pick 4 teams you think will be worse than us, us finishing 20th! and work from there! like SHREWS...NOTTS....CREWE....STEVENAGE = ************ PLAY EACH OTHER Bradford v Steve City v Gills Tran v Old Crawl v Steve Gills v Crawl Shrews v City Steve v Tran Sheff v Carl Shrews v Crawl after this point it is likely both Crawley and Sheff will be non contenders for the drop Brad v Gills Carl v Steve Crewe v Old Tran v Notts Colch v City Gills v Crewe Notts v Carl Old v Crawl Shrew v Brad Carl v Shrews Crawl v Sheff Crewe v Notts ******** Notts v Colch Tran v Carl the grand finale EASTER Brad v Old Colch v Tran Crawl v Crewe Shrews v Steve ******** Old v Sheff Steve v Colch Tran v Shrew the run in Colch v Old Gills v Tran Shrews v Crewe ******** City v Notts Sheff v Steve Crewe v Colch Notts v Crawl Steve v City Tranmere v Sheff Brad v Crawl City v Crewe Carl v Old
16 points is optimistic 20 would be a miracle Miracles can happen, but it will need every man jack of our team to stand up and be counted, and for JET to rediscover his early season form. There are no hiding places now son
