Anyone planning to watch this? I am, being deprived of football for a day is bad enough.. but for 4 months?

Admittly the first game israel vs ireland isn't an eye opener but tomorrow the dutch are playing, and they always produce great talent

Stuart Pearce is unemployable except in this set up.

The England set-up mirrors the same issues at BCFC when nobody gives a flying (you know what) about their results. Lacklustre doesn't even begin to describe the totally useless bunch of (you know whats) who are prepared to spend more effort on their twitter account than they are on their job for which they get well paid and over rated. Rant over except to say why does the country even bother about anything anymore when it's plainly obvious that under achievement is the order of the day at all levels of British society.

Now the rant is really over, until the next time.

The problem with the U21's is that they simply aren't getting enough playing time, and the FA don't want to address the great big elephant in the room that is EUROPE.

A lot of the U21's are happy to collect huge wages and to wait for an opportunity to present itself in the Premier League. What they should be doing is targeting the first-team of a club, and if you can't do that in the Premier League or in the Championship then they should be looking outside of the UK. Players like Tom Ince could probably land a first-team place in a mid-table team in the Bundesliga, Serie A, or La Liga. Hell, they could be playing Champions League football if they opted to play for a top team in Turkey or Greece.

I really do believe that the future for England is to push as many youngsters out of the Premier League and across Europe and South America.

All the really top nations in the world have a lot of players playing in several leagues around the world which provides lots of exposure to different styles, yet not one of England's first choice 22 man squad plays outside of England. Why, money, until this is addressed we will never be a major force on the world stage.

Pearce has been quoted as saying that the team was useless and in my opinion he should obviously be offered a new long term contract to continue in that vein. I have always thought that he is one of the leading lights in the English coaching set up and the fact that he puts out a useless team has only gone to prove my point.

Just in case you haven't spotted my train of thought I think he's absolutely useless in every aspect and should not be offered a new contract, but shown the door today!
