I'm sure Carl Jenkinson is a good player but apparently we did make a bid for Phil Jones. I think Phil Jones will one day be a world class defender, and we should have aimed for him. Oh well, it's better than signing no-one at all at the back. But we still need another Centre Back and a Left Back.
Left back is needed, Clichy just doesn cut it - he has zero delivery, is constantly out of position, cant head the ball and is distinctively average at tackling! Bring it Baines!
I'm glad we haven't spent £20m and £16m to be honest. I think both Henderson and Jones are well overpriced. It remains to be seen whether Jenkinson can make it at Arsenal, so it's not the big signing that we're all waiting for, but neither is it the final piece of the jigsaw - I think we'll see more defensive signings over the summer.

Whatever happens somehow Arsenal are always criticised. Utd buy Jones for £17m and apparently we dropped the ball letting that happen, but if that had been Arsenal buying him for that much everyone would be complaining about buying youth and not experience.
