Definately no prizes for guessing who!

Just imagine how much he would be worth in his prime if he was playing now!! Every one talks these days about how good Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard are but just look at the number of goals Johnny scored for us all from Midfield.

THE Best Box to Box Midfielder of his generation!

Legend is a word overly used but in this case ALL TIME GREAT is the best way of describing him and his enormous contribution over 3 spells to this club. <ok>

When I used to live in Ipswich I used to see him regularly having breakfast in Jacks Cafe! He was always approachable and happy to chat. His down to earth demeanour singles him out as a legend.

I actually had the pleasure (if you can call it a pleasure) of playing against Warky in sunday morning football in the late 90's when he played for Newton Road CC.He absolutely tore us to shreds, I was marking him at a corner it was just simple impossible and i gave a penalty in the end against him. The look on our goalies face when he stepped up and lashed one of the hardest penalties I have ever seen straight down the centre still makes me laugh to this day!

Great memories Guru it must have been your dream to play against John Wark. I wouldn't have fancied being the goalie and having to face one of his thunderbolts from 12 yards! <yikes>

Certainly was, his strength was immense. I'm not a small guy but he grappled me about like a father with a child and i swear he nearly pulled my arm out of its socket at one corner. But you know as a kid they talk to you about movement and making space for yourself, that was the thing that got me, one minute he was there, next he had got himself 2 yards of space and i was done!
