If that's what it takes for them to be Eddie'd then go for it. Seriously though, whoever it is, it's none of our business and no big deal. The only reason it would be good for this to come out would be for the press to see just how little everyone cared about it.
They may well just spill the beans now so everyone knows. There's not been any high profile footballers to come out, so it would be really lame if they keep this quiet as well.
It's none of my business at all what people want to do. But if they do come out and it helps to encourage others to feel more confident about sharing their own situations, then it's a good thing. I guess the thing that might make this more complicated is if it were 2 international players about to head to the world cup in Qatar. What would happen then?
What would happen? Legally - nothing. The Qataris wouldn't dare do anything In practice - A lot of neanderthal fans (especially from less progressive countries) would make a big deal of it and it would be a distraction. Wouldn't be the best timing.

It's ****ing tiresome. Any of this stuff is private and nobody else's business. I have no place knowing or caring where player x shoves his cock, it's none of anyone's business, but what's really ****ing irritating is so many people of different sexual orientations feel the desperate need to shout about it. When we're dead, if anyone digs up our bones it'll say "male" or "female", I wish everyone would just shut up about it all. Just be gay. Or not. Nobody should give two ****s and everyone else needs to just accept that's how people are, but similarly we need to stop having it - excuse the pun - rammed down our throats.
