Been down Old Trafford and although my memory isn't good re; the year, at one of these games a bog seat came whizzing across my head at half time.
I think we were both in the old second division and although winning 2-1 at HT we got beat 3-2. Think both teams got promotion that year tho.

One of my favourites was a 3-3 draw at Old Trafford, in the fog, late 70's probably ...... we were in the side, near the halfway line, and couldn't see either goal by the end, kept track on the score by which end the cheers came from <laugh>

Man U won the 2nd division that year...74-75 I think, but we didn't get promotion...If my memory serves me correct, Villa pipped us at the end by beating us, and we finished about 4th just a couple of points behind them.

Yes, Porterfield was signed from Raith Rovers by Ian McColl in 1967. He left Sunderland in 1977 under (I think) Jimmy Adamson.

I'm too young to have seen many competitive displays at old Trafford except our win last year and a 2-2 draw it must have been great to follow the lads from 1950's til the 70's when we were a giant and not a sleeping one

0-3 14/04/13 2-1 27/10/13 0-3 01/02/14 Divide that by three horse punchers and you have the sweetest of memories and 9points <cheers>
