breezy! 2 wins or 1 win and 2 draws for me So max of 6 defeats - can't see that happening as we've only lost 10 games in 30 so far.
Think he's bang on with that although if we are losing games rather than drawing/winning against the teams below us we might need more.
I can see a late surge for us. We'll end up mid-table. Fine by me. Want to finish the season positively.
I think our position has worsened considerably since Friday, the pressure not to lose against Wigan is massive. We lose, they are 4 behind with a game in hand. We will be in severe trouble if that scenario arises. If Wigan beat us I don't think they will go down, I'd have it between us, Stoke, Sunderland and West Ham for that final spot. The trouble with us as I see it, if we get into that bottom 3 I don't think we are capable of pulling out of it. We do have a very nice run in however with only two games you'd expect us to lose. I'd say Sunderland for that third spot if I was going to pick now, they look a very jaded and old fashioned side, and they have a tough run of games.
Barrel of laughs as usual eh Carra? Did the resolute performance against adversity on sunday inspire any sort of confidence for you in the team?
Don't see what bearing it has to be honest, we are closer to relegation and Sunderland were truly dreadful. I didn't see anything from the team which was different against Sunderland to the previous 10 games. We were just playing a team with no ideas or skill within the midfield. I said during the game I wouldn't be surprised if we shut them out after the equalizer they were that bad.
Don´t think our position has worsened since Friday carrabuh, can´t think that many here really expected us to beat Sunderland, and Wigan beating Newcastle who are in freefall right now, was hardly a surprise either. I fully expect us to fight our way to another point (or more) when we meet Wigan, and should we happen not to, it´s hardly any reason to start despairing. As you say, the way Sunderland played on Sunday, they seem to be the most likely to accompany QPR and Reading down right now, especially if Villa and Wigan keep up their good form, or it could even be Newcastle who find themselves dragged into it. I´ve got no worries at all on our behalf, with home wins against Reading, Swansea ( their number 1 bogey team), and Villa being quite enough to secure safety for one more year.
Mathematically he is probably correct in as much as we are seven points ahead of 18th.But as the games remaining ticks down the position becomes more complex.Realistically anyone from Fulham down could in theory go down. But Wigan were incredibly lucky on Sunday.Their winning goal followed a blatent handball.Had Halsey seen the tackle they would have been down to ten for most of the game.
Can't see how anyone can say it hasn't. 2 points closer to the drop, 2 goalies out and we now have a massive high pressure game away to an inform Wigan side which if we lose will see us firmly in a mire from a position of near safety in the space of two games. All that may happen in 2 games from last Friday. If we are 4 points off relegation come Sunday, does anyone truly expect that gap to be bigger by the end of the season? I really don't see the optimism this week. We get a draw against Wigan then it will be the best point we'll earn all season.
