Two match of the day pundits ,danny murphy and martin keown have been accused of investing in a tax avoidance scheme and are reported to face bills of over 2million pound each. Revenue and Customs have ordered murphy to pay 2.5 million after he invested in schemes set up by ingenious media partners in 2005,according to the Times newspaper. meanwhile keown has reported to have paid over 2 million to HMRC as a retrospective tax bill, although he denies the figure is accurate
just highlights the inequality of tax in this country - they have to pay £2 million pound tax and yet they get exactly the same services as someone who pays no tax - and then Labour want them to pay even more - no wonder they try to reduce the amount of tax they pay
Hmmm & then the government give away billions in aid , sometimes unwanted by the receiving governments -
it's wanted alright - it usually ends up in the Swiss bank accounts of the receiving Government and their cronies
This is all well and good, but I wonder why HMRC aren't chasing these massive companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon and others who cost the country billions in tax.
