Awkward game to predict. Two weeks ago, Villa were unbeaten all season. O.k., they lost at Eastlands, but anyone can do that these days. But then they fluffed it against West Brom as well! So either they'll regain their form and be a tall order, or they won't and we'll win (assuming Bruce doesn't mess it about, of course).

Richardson will do better for as long as Sessegnon is on the left. Hoping he could overlap Larsson with Seb cutting inside was asking a lot of anyone and Ricco clearly wasn't up to it. I think that was faulty tactics rather than any deficiency on Richardson's part though. Richardson and Sess on the left for me.

Aston Villa's Chris Herd will not be banned for three games after the club won his appeal against wrongful dismissal

But another one will be.

Barry Bannan has been suspended by Aston Villa as the club carries out an internal inquiry into the midfielder's involvement in a motorway crash on Sunday.

Villa boss Alex McLeish confirmed on Monday an investigation was to be launched and Bannan did not train with the rest of the first team.

The Scotland international has since been suspended and will miss Saturday's trip to Sunderland while Villa look into the car crash, which occurred on the M1 at around 5:30am on Sunday near junction 26.
