Taking from the Chonicle thought I'd post this heads up for you Twit's so you's can follow the players that you aren't.

LOTS of Newcastle United players are now on Twitter, and below is a confirmed list of genuine Toon stars.

We have pulled this together as there are a lot of fake accounts out there pretending to be real players and spreading lies about the club.

But here is the definitive list, checked with the players themselves by our chief sports writer Lee Ryder, who is on Twitter as @lee_ryder. His blog is also available at @blogonthetyne.

You can also follow all the latest news from your Chronicle at @EveningChron, and all the latest Magpies news at @ChronicleNUFC.

    Jonas Gutierrez - @elgalgojonas

    Danny Simpson - @dannysimpson12

    Dan Gosling - @dangosling15

    Stephen Ireland - @stephenireland

    Nile Ranger - @NilePowerRanger

    Sammy Ameobi - @sammy_ameobi

    Kazenga LuaLua - @kazlualua

    Shane Ferguson - @shane_fergie

    Brad Inman - @brad_inman47

    Former Toon players:

    Olivier Bernard - @seedorf77

    Warren Barton - @warrenbarton2

    Shaka Hislop - @ShakaHislop

If any more United players join Twitter, we’ll be sure to add them in.
Do you know of any other former players who are on it? Let us know in the comments below or Tweet us at @EveningChron.

Twitter is canny for getting in touch with people you wouldn't have a chance to speak with in real life; really helped for me interviewing a few big name DJs, producers & musicians over the course of my uni degree.
One even sent me a video on a DVD through the post of their own studio setup and their approach to mixing/studio techniques. I would have never had a look in without it.

So aye, being a self indulgent twat is great <cheers>

It's good for keeping up to date on news that's relevant to your interests, and for completely unfounded rumour. I don't like the use of it to detail every little thing that happens in your day, I don't give a **** how random people's days are going.

I follow footballers and the odd mate (out of politeness) but the main reason I signed up to twitter and the main reason I will never quit is down to this legendary fella: http://twitter.com/#!/TheBig_Sam

I used to think I was relatively technologically clued up, but I guess I'm not as good as I thought I was. I had a Blackberry phone and had no idea how to work the ****er and I just don't understand Twitter at all.

    Rep!

That's exactly the same as me until I lost my blackberry. I think that's the best thing I ever did as it would have been getting slammed against the wall!

Lost mine in a taxi after a night out in Preston. I borrowed my girlfriend's old Nokia, which was one from around the time that colour screens first came out and I actually preferred it. It was a shame to lose all my pictures and videos, but the Nokia had a little flashlight I could use and I could play snake, which is more than I could do on the ****ing Blackberry.
