If there's anyone like me who is pretty clueless about Twitter, intuitively reluctant to get involved in it, yet curious because it has become a seemingly potent socialising tool and feel that maybe you're missing out/just being an old fuddy duddy, then maybe you will find this Guide Book useful. Haven't read it myself yet but it looks as though I'll have to at least do that and see what it's all about.

Birds do it don't they? I tried a couple of years ago, but it was too much for me. I'm still firmly stuck on the land line, and my mobile is almost always turned off. I hate it when the phone rings. 
I'm on Twitter, but I use it to follow people rather than "tweet" myself. Many racing broadcasters/trainers/studs, etc are on there now and it is quite useful, and often entertaining to follow them.
The helpful thing is that once you start following people, Twitter gives you recommendations on other similar people to follow.

Its a brilliant way to follow what the 'fans' and 'experts' think of the sport, along with getting snippets from the industry and those who work in it.
