He's down the pecking order so you can nderstand his desire to move on. Would be a shame as he's a good squad player. Can't imagine him getting a new contract from us so now is as good a time as any for him to look to move on. A month to get his CV out befor the transfer window opens.
Loaning Frei was a bit of a kick in the bollocks for him. We've had injuries out wide and still he's had very little chance. Wouldn't be suprised if this request has happened and not massively upset by it. Good luck to him if he does move on, he's always given it everything imo and I can't ask for much more than that from any player.
He did well when he replaced Noone at Ipswich, but I've never enthused about him generally. From memory, he had a decent run at the start of last season when he joined us, got injured about 8 games in and missed a few - hasn't been the same since. Can be tricky but lacks pace, and invariably comes inside rather than taking on his full back. Good delivery with his right foot though. Seems a decent sort and I never disliked the guy. Good to have him available in the squad but it looks like he wants more than that. At least he gets to sit on the bench - Velikonja can't buy a seat.

Just shows how strong our set up is that Frei got so few chances. I guess that will mean a no to Conway's request in the short term as he becomes our only wing alternative. If only he had another yard of pace Craig could have been a top player. Good luck to him when he leaves. As for Tate, what a pity Leeds won't visit us again this season (cup tie apart) as it would have been nice to great our old "friend" in the time honoured fashion. I thought Leeds new owners were going to invest in their team. Not a good start then.
