Apparently, Norwich are preparing to launch a bid for Gary Hooper of Celtic.

And, much more importantly, Fulham have agreed a deal with 'Uddesfield for Jordan Rhodes.

    We shall see soon enough.

After Saturday we stand more chance of signing Gary Glitter.

Seriously, Hooper would be a gem of a by, but I can't see him coming to us somehow :emoticon-0101-sadsm

He's a genuinely good poacher and would probably play well with holt but i agree parts of his game are't as good and he's made to look far better by playing against some very poor defences.

Swansea now had a bid accepted for Ki. They have added some real quality this summer getting overseas bargains but not afraid to splash a bit if required..whereas we have spent a whole 5m in transfer fees iirc :-/

I really think we have to look abroad myself, better value for money. Still need a few signings in my opinion.

I wish we'd taken a punt on Anita, looks a steal for Newcastle, when he came on against Spurs he looked good. Pace, good on the ball, can beat a player, can tackle, good positioning, good age. I think he is going to be a revelation. I know £6.7 million is probably outside our budget though, probably ended up being unrealistic. I know you've been singing his praises for months on here too.

Funny you should say that, because we put in a bid for Hooper that Celtic turned down (around £6M <yikes>) & then went on to sign Billy Sharp. Personally I'm far more happy with the fat lad from Sheffield, he's got good work ethic & under Adkins is going to get a lot better.

I read a bout that bid - and that was turned down!

No way will we be bidding for him.

It does get my gripe seeing the swans add quality like what they have, and especially getting a player like michu for 2mil euros! Now signing Ki from celtic there doing what we should be doing and thats adding quality to there first XI and just not the squad!

Unfotunately, unlike Swansea, we don't have a youngster to sell to Liverpool for £15m to fund various signings.

It does help your war chest if you get a £15m gift from your former manager. The Joe Allen transfer reminds me of Sir Bobby giving 1p5wich £6m for Titus Bramble - fair play to him he even managed to keep a straight face as well.

No, but we do have Chris Martin, Korey Smith and Tom Adeyemi who are unlikely to get game time - if we have no cash to splash surely it's time to see if we can get a fee for these three. I like Korey in particular but can't see him breaking though into the midfield set-up. It's not £15m I know but to coin a Tesco phrase ..........
