So I am fully on Ashley Coles side with this case. I do not think he has done any thing wrong.

But on Match of the Day Alan Shearer said the FA should ban Ashley Cole from next weeks England squad and send out a message to the footballing world.

All I was thinking was 'what a load of crap'. Its really not a big deal. He didnt tweet any thing offensive. He deleted it, which I think is enough.

Chelsea should also support Cole, not fine him themselves.

Do you think a tweet like Coles is really a punishable offence?

With this, and Martinez's fine during the week, the FA are getting pathetic in my opinion. Freedom of speech is becoming forbidden in English football.

When you put something on Twitter you are putting it in the puBlic domain just as if you said it at a press conference so if it would be an offence to say it there then I guess it will be if you say it on Twitter. As much as I agree with you about the FA I do think that if I called my boss a twat then he'd be having words with me (let's not forget he gets paid a **** load of cash to pay for England).

Freedom of speech is a lovely concept...but it doesn't exist I'm afraid.

look there is a big difference between calling someone a bunch of twats and saytweeting to a ref that you hope they die in pain.

the thing is.... the FA are the FA so if cole has signed up to certain rules to play and get paid a huge sum then if he breaks those rules by calling them a bunch of whatevers then he knows what he gets.

    simple.

however the relaity is all football authorities are corrupt and power fraks as it all comes down from blatter.... the fa were only raging cos we didn't bribe enough guys not cos qatar bribed them... reality check...

Normally, for us, it wouldn't be too much of an issue.

But for a man in the public domain this is very foolish. He needs to keep his opinions of his bosses to himself.

Deserves a one match ban. Not a fine.

He's write though they are ****s!

Cole is a tit himself. He has been condemned in the FA report for the part he played.

Most sensible people will put their head down and let the whole matter rest. It shows the arrogance of people like him that he thinks he can blast his way of this and shows that he was/is right.

Players have been punished in the past for using twitter to slag off whoever so why would Cole be any different.Players should know by now that their bosses will have something to say if they break the rules

Like mentioned he should of kept his opinion to himself instead of putting it in the public. And therefor should except anything that is handed down to him fine or ban

    Ashley Cole coincidently.

But I wouldnt call it racial abuse, just a controversial joke.

I dont think that was such a big deal either.

The FA are twats and have always been twats. I expect them to continue being twats. But they won't ban Cole because Hodgson needs him, thus enhancing their twattery with hypocrisy.

Remember when they were all passing Faria Alam around like she was John Terry's bit on the side?

He said he was brown on the outside but white on the inside. White on the inside because of his behaviour, behaved like whitey. Not racial? :)

Keep it going lads, just keep it going.

As for Cole this is quite common. Say for example one one us wrote something bad about the company we work for or the body which governs our company and they saw it, we would likely face disciplinary action for it.

Cole will get a fine for this, it was off the field of play so a match ban would be silly.

After seeing how the FA rubbished any sort of evidence in the Suarez-Evra case that didn't agree with Evra's account then I can understand why someone could get frustrated at the FA for their seemingly one sided reports.

Haven't actually read the report or followed Cole's part in this saga just to clarify, I'm just going by what happened in the Suarez/Evra case.

He called his "employers" a bunch of twats. If I did that I'd be disciplined and possibly sacked. Should be no different for him.

Footballers are stupid lets be honest and what Shearer was saying is right, fining players a weeks wages means nothing. Hit them were it hurts by not playing them. They don't need to ban him, just don't select him. Let's be honest Baines has been in just as good form and deserves a chance, especially as we are playing San Marino (I could play LB against them).
