As much as I think giving the likes of Joey Barton etc a medium to express their neanderthalic thoughts in 140 characters is generally insulting to the birds whose morning chirping, whilst still annoying after a hangover, is vastly more comprehensible, twitter seems the best way to keep in touch with transfer rumours these days.

Of course, whilst eroding the English language to a meaningless jargon of @ and ctm ("chuckling to myself", I made it up because it is as exactly pointless as lol, but with the added bonus of more aptly describing the pathetic loner state laughter of post/mid-masterbation chat with people we don't really care about on MSN, facebook chat and of course, Twitter), it provides ordinary Plebians (such as you or that other you which you pretend to be on social networking forums) with the perfect opportunity to harrass celebrities til they press a little button which sends your own moronic comment back into the public domain with their name attatched, so we can see what a devoted little fan-girl you are...

And, of course, if you add your friends you will quickly become bored with constant gripes about their inability to eat fruit without looking like they're re-making a Jaws film, and the consequent need to "**** their life/world" because it is so meaningless as a result...

Yet, it has provided a medium through which fans, who were becoming alienated and isolated from their incredibly wealthy "heroes", can genuinely connect in a way that the media has never allowed owing to their own agenda. As such, I guess it's a welcome necessity.

Anyway, my rant aside, who is worth following on Twitter from a Newcastle fan's point of view? I follow most of the players I believe, anyone else interesting? Who should I be harrassing (to fit in)?

While I tend to stay away from a lot of it and in general can find social networking abhorrent, you cant deny its usefulness in certain situations.

Also The JPF , your signature is class mate.
