'Streaming' has been a dirty word, in the past, but a club like Sunderland should be making the most of it. The EFL could hand us a big leg up if these new proposals are approved.

In my opinion there are many reasons we can benefit and I don't believe it will hit our gates much. In difficult times it's hard for some families to go together but kids can be brought up supporting the club by watching, at home, with mam and dad. Anything that stops them from buying a Liverpool or Barcelona shirt is good imo.

For those of you who live in the NE you may be surprised at just how many exiles we have. As a result of economic migration with the coalfields, etc, and people moving for other work reasons there are thousands who find going to the SOL a stretch. Away games are different and you'll often see hundreds of exiles there. I'm not sure how a revenue split would work between the home/away club but I'd imagine the home club would benefit more. Whatever the case I'd think the income doesn't affect our FFP status so it's hopefully a win win situation.

"Sunderland would be one of the main beneficiaries if the EFL were to scrap Saturday’s 3pm blackout, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire."
