Manchester United are still on course to become the first football club to break through the £100million barrier for annual commercial turnover.

United have posted their third quarter figures this morning, which show commercial revenue has risen to £75.3million, up 33% compared to 12 months ago.

The increase helps compensate for a combined £5million decrease in media and matchday revenue within the third quarter, which club officials put down to a reduction in the number of home games and the fact prices were pegged for an FA Cup fifth round tie with non-league Crawley in March.

United have also confirmed they have bought back an additional £5.5million in bonds, taking the overall amount purchased to £29.5million.

Total turnover stands at £231.7million, up from £219.3million, to March 31, 2011.

United's gross debt has also fallen to £477.7million, although this is thought to be a direct result of a conversion to sterling of money owed in dollars, which is weak against the pound.

The club still has £113million in cash, or its equivalents, which, despite the likelihood that they will clinch a record 19th league title on Saturday and have a Champions League final against Barcelona to look forward to on 28 May, many fans believe should be invested in Sir Alex Ferguson's squad.

Turnover is increasing and will be a much higher figure overall compared to last season. Commercial revenue has increased by 33% and we will be the first club to break the 100m on commercial revenue alone. This club is growing massively and we still have healthy cash sums in the bank. We make the FFP rules with ease and this is good news for the club.

    Liverpool will still win F'all...
and if your bitter logic is correct, United will still do better with less resources. So it doesn't really matter, does it?

You seem to be taking the truth hard. We get the title and increase turnover. Not a great week for you. Liverpool won, but you seem to care more about the fate of united.

You only hear what you want to hear don't you KPR? NESV have already said that they will be spending sensibly, not in the same way City or Chelsea have done. So not Harrods, just Sainsburys. And our 2 charity shop buys last summer have done alright so far haven't they?

Your comment got deleted cos it was yet another piss poor wum attempt. The Utd fans are getting bored of constantly showing you up.

And remind us again...what was Utd's net spend in the summer transfer window? And what was Liverpool's in the January window?

Man Utd have 100m plus in cash to spend on players in the summer and this is not including the profits we make. Debt is down and when we need to spend we will. Anyways Ferguson did say he will be spending, so we will see at least 3 new players in the summer and with VDS and Scholes likely retiring we will see some top class players coming in. You can wum all day KPR but Liverpool are a ship which has sunk. You are the titanic and you will no longer come a float. Good bye

Liverpool shop at Primemark and get Mandy for 35m <laugh>. Imagine if Liverpool shopped at Harrods <laugh>. They would have to spend more money than what their club is worth (300m). Utd shop at where we want and 9 times out of 10 we get Harrods quality players, regardless of the price. Liverpool shop at Prime Mark and spend Harrods prices on cheap rubbish.

When will Pool fans get this into their heads, there is no rivalry between our clubs. You are a club which has sunk beyond repair and you are finished. Utd are rivaled only by Barca and maybe Madrid. We are by far a better and bigger team than Pool and any rivalry between our clubs just dirties our name. So please stop this rubbish and wum at clubs in similar positions to you. You have not won a title in over 20 years and somehow think we are rivals <laugh>.
