Rumoured £750,000 plus Parkin, the value of Parkin is around £75k - £100k based on what we bought him for so assume total value of transfer is £850,000.

£850,000 for a player that has'nt played in nearly a year because of injury, also he's a central defender which isnt a postion we are crying out for particularly as we have Keinan waiting to get a game.

Anyone else think this is not money well spent. I would much prefer that to put towards the midfield.

My initial thought are we dont need another centre half.

But remember Malky is building his own squad and if we are being honest a promotion challenge is going to be unrealistic.

If this is true Malky probably thinks Turner is better than Hudson and Gerrard. Therefore if he thinks hes a player who will make us stronger long term then hes going to go for it.

To me the Hudson / Gerrard partnership doesnt really work .

If deals could be done id try to sell Gerrard to Hull and free Gypes (if we get Turner of course)

But yes there are other areas of more concern.

There is a lack of pace throughout the team. But im sure Malky realises this and when he can do the right deal he will do it.

CCFC needed massive rebuilding on and off the pitch. Malky and the board deserve the time to rebuild.

Patience is the key from our fans this season.

Am I reading this incorrectly but it sounds like he is still injured from last November and he's only 23 years old.

Why are we spending this much on an injured player, and how exactly is he supposed to pass a medical.

I would personally want to see how he performed after his injury before parting with money like this, its a knee injury and some players never fully recover from these types of injuries and seeing as he has been out for this long it must be pretty bad.

I don't know much about him but I'm guessing he must have had a bit of pace before the knee injury. We are desperate for a comanding CB with pace.

It is a risk buying a player off a big injury but the Cov fans seem to think he's worth >£2mil we've offered £750k and the chance to off load Parkin's wages! They don't seem to keen on the current owners and seem to think any offer of quick cash will see players sold. Prehaps MM and the board think Turner is cheap enough to be worth the risk, look at how much Mills went to Leicester for.
It looks fairly likely he'll go to Brum if they sell Dann anyway.

It was said when Earnie, Kiss, Conway etc, etc were having their medicals that they were very tough so I can't see that changing.

After 5 league games plus friendly’s and cup games, I must admit I’m not too happy with our Centre Backs, Hudson & Gerrard don't gel as a partnership and K9 & Gypes looked even worse.

Goal scorers get all the press but it's the defence that win championships.

Talk on other boards is that Gypes may be sent out on loan to our Devon friends but it's only talk.

I think any Div. 1/2 side would like to sign Gyepes, too slow for the Championship but ideal for the next leagues down.

Does look a bit of a gamble on Turner unless fully fit with no sign of a recurrence - remember Riggot. However, Malky knows best.

Still want to know where the additional striker, winger and mid fielder will come from and who will take Naylor? Please!!!!!

Another thought, Turner is at Cov, the Gunnar came from Cov, are they mates and did one recommend the other? If so that may be a good reason for Turner to come to us rather than Brum.

never heard of him so i cant comment on him, but its good to get parkin off the books, it hopefully leaves a place for MM to bring in someone in, perhaps on loan.

sorry hilts with the lack of pace comments not fair on the boys - through the centre defence yes, but not everywhere, the other teams we play hardly have their fair share of sprinters!!! our pace i think is pretty good, conway, earnshaw, cowie ,mcnaughton , taylor and gunnarson , look pretty quick in relative terms to what other teams have.

No one capable of taking on and beating players in the Burke mould though. At Oxford Conway wouldn't even give a Div. 2 full back a run.

It is an alternative we really need. I don't even think Bellers fills that bill although he will be very welcome.

Rodrigo Inigo tackles like Woodgate, clean and moves away with the ball after, plus he wins a lot of free kicks.

I hope we keep this guy.

Turner must be ok no one pays out that kind of money if the guy can`t pass a medical.

I agree Blue, we need options out wide. Burke wasn't always the right choice, but was something a bit different. An out and out pace man as an impact player or to start the game and grind full backs down before putting on a more technical winger.
